Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University) - MAI was founded in 1930 with the aim of providing training of highly qualified personnel for the country's aviation industry. 2022

Launch of Information Security Laboratory in conjunction with Group-IB

The company Group-IB announced on October 18, 2022, the launch of a pilot project information security of the Laboratory based on IT the -centre and Department 806 Moscow aviation of the Institute (MAI). As part of the partner master's course, MAI students were the first to be able to conduct laboratory work using a Group-IB Managed XDR complex of high-tech solutions for advanced detection, response and from protection complex and unknown ones. cyber threats After completing the course, the best of the graduates will be able to take an internship at the company.

Cooperation between Group-IB and MAI began in 2020 after the signing of an agreement on the development of joint vocational education and training programs for the training of qualified personnel for the IT industry. Many years of cooperation between Group-IB and MAI laid the foundation for the creation of a pilot site for the first Information Security Laboratory at the university.

In 2020-2021, Group-IB specialists and teachers of the Moscow Aviation Institute developed a partner master's program "Mathematical and Software for the Protection of Information Systems and Technologies," in which two dozen students took the course "Applied Information Security Issues." The best of the graduates became interns at Group-IB.

In the 2022 academic year, Group-IB teachers teach an expanded course "Applied Information Security Issues" for 60 students of the MAI IT master's degree, and another 15 students of the master's program will hold a workshop "Identification and Response to Information Security Incidents."

To perform laboratory work, students are given training access to the Group-IB Managed XDR solution, which allows them to study current cyber threats in practice: monitor all events on the network, at each device and workplace, as well as external events that pose a threat to the company. Also, Managed XDR allows you to conduct in-depth investigation of incidents from patient zero (the first infected device on the network) to fixing malware in the infrastructure of the target company and further developing the attack.

In the IT industry, it is customary to think that cybersecurity is not taught: only practice will give the necessary knowledge and skills for responding to incidents, digital forensics, cybercrime research - the company wants to change this. The opening of the Group-IB Information Security Laboratory on the basis of the MAI IT Center is a step towards creating a paradigm for security and training of highly qualified specialists who can work with the most relevant solutions for detecting and preventing cyber attacks literally from the student bench. The laboratory is "Group-IB in miniature," where students will learn to resist cyber threats in conditions as close as possible to the real ones. Launch of training program for industrial 3D printing

On June 9, 2022, it became known about the launch in Russia of a training program for industrial 3D printing. The Moscow Aviation Institute, with the support of the Rostec Center for Additive Technologies (CAT), is recruiting university students and experienced specialists who want to improve their qualifications for courses. There are four programs to choose from:

  • "Additive Technology Design Engineer";
  • "Process Engineer for Additive Technologies";
  • "Online Course on Additive Technologies";
  • 3D Plastic Printing.

In the first stream, it is planned to train about 100 specialists. The classes will be conducted by leading practitioners from the CAT and teachers of the Moscow Aviation Institute. The start of the program is scheduled for July 2022. The duration of training varies from 14 to 30 days. At the end of each training block, intermediate certification and the final exam at the end of the course are provided. After completing the training, students will receive a state-issued certificate.

Launch of training program for industrial 3D printing

In the modern world, complex specialists are in demand who are able not only to grow a part, but also to organize work on modeling and topological optimization of design, technological design of additive production, testing and confirmation of characteristics for installation on a serial product. This is what the training programs of the Moscow Aviation Institute are aimed at, - said Dmitry Kaisin, director of the Directorate of Advanced Educational Programs of the Moscow Aviation Institute.

According to General Director Vladislav Kochkurov, by 2024-2025 Russia. may face a shortage of specialists in the field of introduction and use of additive technologies, so it was decided to launch a joint educational project with the Moscow Aviation Institute. It is aimed at improving the qualifications of existing employees of enterprises and forming a cohort of new specialists from among the listeners, Kochkurov explained.[1]

2017

The rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute Mikhail Poghosyan announced in April 2017 the Center for Information Technologies. Over the next few years, MAI plans to increase the training of specialists in the field of information technology (programmers, analysts, testing and information security specialists). In addition, it is planned to create a number of laboratories implementing applied scientific research in the field of software development, as well as an accelerator and incubator for student startups in the field of computer technology.

Commenting on the project of creating the IT Center, Mikhail Poghosyan noted that the information technology industry is one of the most growing, and our country can rightfully be proud of the success of domestic developers in creating complex software solutions. The center being created should unite and focus the efforts of several departments and faculties of the MAI, ensuring their close interaction with industry leaders.

The creation of the project and the implementation plan of the IT Center of MAI was supervised by the ex-head of the corporate network academy "Rostec" Voloshin Dmitry. For several months, a team of university employees worked on the development of the concept, analyzed the current state and prospects for the development of the information technology industry, the capabilities and potential of MAI in terms of the development of this industry. Based on the results of the group's work, it was decided to launch the project, and Dmitry Voloshin will join the university staff as an adviser to the rector and concurrently as the curator of the project for the creation of the Information Technology Center of the Moscow Aviation Institute.

2015: Joining MATI

On March 31, 2015, by order of the Ministry of Education and Science, the MAI was reorganized by joining the MATI (K.E. Tsiolkovsky Russian State Technological University).

1941: Ivan Bratukhin headed the OKB-3. Tests of the Omega helicopter

1939: Creation of OKB-3 for helicopter design
