The museum of cryptography — the scientific and technology museum which tells about last, this and future to cryptography in a welfare and social and political context of Russia and the world.

It is based by Kriptonit group (is engaged in development of science, technologies and support of domestic IT — talents) with assistance of the Avtomatika Concern (Rostec) specializing in cryptography questions from 40th years of the 20th century. The museum of cryptography will be open in the territory of the Avtomatika plant.

2020

The building in which the Museum of Cryptography will be located will for the first time open the doors for general public. In the Soviet years it was well-known "sharashka" in Marfino where scientists developed the equipment for enciphering of telephone communication. In particular, in 1947-1950 Alexander Solzhenitsyn worked here, in acoustic laboratory he together with the writer Lev Kopelev sorted the speech "on stones", made articulation tables, defined what sounds well or badly reproduces the vocoder - that legendary Sharashki device. A task of the museum — to awaken the interest of visitors in science and modern technologies, telling about cryptography and adjacent scientific and technical areas. Opening is planned in 2021.

The invaluable copy of the book of the beginning of the 20th century "Russian universal cable kod" where the words and phrases replaced in telegrams with universal codes are collected can be seen in the Russia's first Museum of cryptography which will open in the territory of former marfinsky "sharashka" in Moscow in 2021. As reported the management of future museum, the book "Russian Universal Cable Kod" was purchased at biddings of one of the oldest auction houses of "LITFOND", and in the nearest future the museum will complete acquisition at private antique shop of three issues of the magazine 'The Bell System Technical Journal' with works of "the father of information century" Claude Shannon. Cryptography history as sciences began with the works published in these numbers. Shannon's works formed the basis of the device of all modern computers.

The collection of the museum already contains about 50 exhibits, including the five-keyboard transmitter of the cable letterprinting device of Baudot (2BD-41) of double telegraphy (the USSR, the 1940th), set with a cryptographic disk of the Army body of communication of the USA (Signal Corp. USA) which was used in the 1970th years.

The teenagers who are fond of science and also their parents will become the main visitors of the museum. For this reason for future museum not only exhibits, but also forms of the report of information carefully are selected.

Multimedia exhibits, infographics and interactive islands of the look&feel format will become an important part of the museum. Separate, especially striking historical examples will be recreated in the form of "immersive" environments, for example, an office of the cryptographer. Exhibits will have two levels of complexity, the first – "fast", visually attractive, simpler and clear, the second – "profound", "long", with an opportunity to gain more difficult scientific knowledge.
