In 2023, the founder and general director of the Shefmarket delivery service, Sergei Ashin, registered a software development company - Chef Tech LLC. Among the activities of Chef Tech LLC, in addition to developing computer software, there are indicated perarabotka and canning of meat, poultry meat, fish, crustaceans and mollusks, fruits and vegetables, the production of ready-made food and dishes and other activities related to the production of food.

2021: Attracting investment from HelloFresh

On September 15, 2021, it became known that Shefmarket attracted investments from the German food delivery service for cooking dishes according to the selected HelloFresh recipe. The exact amount of the transaction was not disclosed, and the press release only indicated that we are talking about "several million euros."

Under the terms of the agreement, HelloFresh received 10% of Shefmarket, and the latter will use the funds received to expand production and launch new products.

According to the RealSimple.com website, HelloFresh is the most popular food delivery service with recipes in the United States. In the first half of this year, HelloFresh, according to its own data, processed 30.7 million orders in the United States, in general, 60.3 million orders in all countries of presence.

Shefmarket and HelloFresh work according to a similar model: they deliver products from which the consumer, according to the accompanying recipe, can prepare the selected dish. The Russian online food sales market is the largest in Europe and the fifth in the world in terms of the number of households, HelloFresh explained its interest in Shefmarket.

2016-2017

The founder of Shefmarket, Sergei Ashin, attracted investments in his project in 2016-2017. Among his co-owner is the Addventure fund. Japanese Mitsui & Co in 2016 invested $1.3 million in the service, in 2017 - another $3.5 million. In the same year, the investment company Elbrus Capital invested several million dollars in Shefmarket. The controlling stake then remained with Sergei Ashin.[1]
