Biography

Sergei Sergeyev was born in the city of Shchelkovo, Moscow Region.

In 2000 he graduated from Moscow State University of Engineering Ecology with a degree in Automation of Processes and Industries. In 2017, he defended his MBA diploma at the Higher School of Economics.

2018

Work in M.Video and M.Video/Eldorado

After the university, he began his career at M.Video as an IT engineer. He went to the head of the department of information systems.

In 2011, he joined another organization - the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance, where until 2013 he served as Deputy Head of the Information Technology Department. But then he returned to M.Video again.

In 2015, Sergei Sergeyev took the position of Director of Information Technology of M.Video, and after the purchase of M.Video of the Eldorado network, he took a similar position in the combined company. Under his leadership, the IT division provided support for the company's strategy, designed for a period until 2022. Its core is the transition from an omnichannel approach to the One Retail model by fully digitalizing the purchasing experience, erasing all boundaries between the retail environment and online and offline sales channels. To achieve this goal, the company solves the problem of building an organization based on data, introducing digital technologies into all business processes.

Over the past few years, the company has been actively experimenting and introducing new technologies. These include, among other things, artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual and augmented reality, etc. At the same time, since 2015, internal development at M.Video has been carried out according to the Agile methodology. Sergei Sergeyev previously reported that this made it possible to reduce the speed of development and the time for bringing solutions to market.

One of the largest projects for Sergei Sergeyev in the position of Chief information officer was the integration of IT M.Video and Eldorado in the process of merging companies. In an interview with TAdviser in December 2019, he said that this was the main task of business and IT over the past two years. At the end of February 2019, both brands simultaneously switched to unified information systems in parallel with the re-registration of a legal entity.

2020

Departure from M.Video/Eldorado
