British American Tobacco transferred IT systems to a cloud of MTS

On October 10, 2017 PJSC MTS announced project implementation on migration of IT systems of "British American Tobacco Russia" group in a cloud of MTS.

The operator implemented the complex project on providing cloud IT infrastructure. During the project of MTS transferred key IT systems "BAT Russia" to a cloud platform #CloudМТС in Moscow and also organized a secure channel of communication to these resources. In addition the provider provided a disaster-proof configuration of IT systems due to use of the reserve platform in DPC of MTS in St. Petersburg.

The cloud platform of MTS is organized based on the solution of VMware and the equipment of the leading vendors of enterprise-level that in combination with geographical distribution of DPCs and an extensive network of own trunk and city communication channels allows MTS to provide complex, completely disaster-proof service.

Technical results

98 physical and virtual servers, farms and clusters turned into 45 virtual servers in a cloud of MTC and Azureiz ^[1].

Complete moving of all IT services to a hybrid cloud. And it includes:

• 15 Business applications of different scales
• File service
• Service of printing
• Backuping
• IP telephony
• Fayrfola
• Etc.

Need for the separate regulations and infrastructure for providing DRP disappeared. Now all questions of recovery in case of accident keep within a framework of our SLA with the supplier.

At some systems high-speed performance - CRM/BI platforms increased.
