SKIT.Monitoring

SKIT Monitoring is a system for monitoring the resources of telecommunications infrastructure. In general, PAC SKIT allows you to continuously monitor all information technology resources of the organization/enterprise, conduct a retrospective analysis of emergency situations and promptly eliminate failures in the operation of IT resources of any type.

The software product allows you to constantly monitor the resources of the telecommunications infrastructure of an institution, department, enterprise, as well as promptly inform the competent services about failures and incidents that occur.

The automated system "SKIT" provides systematization of data on the used information and communication resources and monitoring the state of channels, equipment, software in real time.

As part of the PAC, the network traffic analysis module

SKIT allows you to identify all incidents related to unplanned service shutdown, deterioration of the quality of communication channels, failures in the operation of server and telecommunication equipment. The IT solution has three basic subsystems. The continuous monitoring subsystem monitors the status of the software and hardware in operation. If failures or anomalies are detected in the operation of the observed objects of the critical information infrastructure, technical personnel are automatically notified.

The software product is adapted to monitor complex data exchange processes between geographically distributed systems. It can be used to monitor the performance of electronic services of government agencies in the electronic interaction system (SMEV) when providing state and municipal services in electronic form.

The technical support subsystem automates the processes of user service, processing requests for the modernization and development of the IT infrastructure, monitors the quality and timing of execution. In addition, it provides planning and monitoring of scheduled maintenance of IT resources.

The technical accounting subsystem is designed to systematize data on the operated equipment and software, control the efficiency of use and compliance with the license cleanliness. SKIT to monitor and support the operation of the entire urban infrastructure

In Nizhnevartovsk and Voronezh, using the SKIT software product, the operability of the Safe City video surveillance systems was constantly monitored.

SKIT.Trafic

"SKIT Traffic" is a network traffic analysis program designed to collect, store and statistically analyze information on the volume of data passed through segments and nodes of a computer network. The program automatically collects data using the Netflow protocol from network routers (sensors), aggregates this data by minutes, five-minute intervals, hours.

In automatic mode, the system generates various types of statistical reports:

  • rating of "Top 10 sessions" of information transmission for a certain time interval through specified routers,
  • Rating "Top 10 applications" by traffic volume of various applications (http, ftp, smtp, ssh, nfs and others),
  • pie charts, histograms and graphs showing the percentage of traffic volumes with the specified parameters,
  • Real-time monitoring of the amount of traffic that has passed from IP address "A" to IP address "B" and can be filtered by TCP ports.

2021: Integration with Rostelecom's ESMP service management software platform

On December 8, 2021, the Rostelecom Group of Companies announced that it had combined two IT products: its own software platform for managing ESMP services and the Inventory Control and Technical Support System (SKIT). 2018

Testing of the Safe City Pilot Demonstration Stand

On November 16, 2018, the GLOBUS-TELEKOM company announced that, together with SFERA, it had completed testing of the pilot demonstration stand of the Safe City information platform.

According to the company, the goal of the development is to provide users of the "Safe City" with additional opportunities for predicting, monitoring and preventing emergencies. In addition, the information and communication solution will ensure control over the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations, the interaction of duty officers, dispatch and municipal services of the city.

The pilot demonstration stand of the Safe City information platform is based on the SPHERE CoordCom software complex and the SKIT software and hardware complex.

According to company representatives, SKIT will help not only to see, for example, non-working fire sensors in shopping centers, but also to establish the causes of their malfunction in a timely manner. The collected data will be promptly transmitted to the KoordCom PC.

Globus-Telecom (a subsidiary of Rostelecom) on August 2, 2018 announced the development of a solution for monitoring a Wi-Fi network based on the SKIT hardware and software complex. The service is relevant for banks, catering establishments, museums, parks, recreation areas and other city facilities.

According to the developers, the SKIT subsystem provides constant quality control of the functioning of geographically distributed Wi-Fi networks, allows you to quickly identify and prevent the development of emergency situations in its various segments.

The service of operation of wireless communication networks automatically receives data on the quality of operation of Wi-Fi access points, traffic profile, air load. In addition, it is possible to measure current values ​ ​ of key network characteristics online.

The high quality of the network is achieved using specialized devices - probes or sensors located in its segments. Each probing device provides comprehensive information about the operation of the Wi-Fi network at the installation point. For example, about the load of network equipment and communication channels, signal and noise level over all frequency bands, the density of Wi-Fi access points and the number of network identifiers.

Under constant monitoring are the main parameters of communication channels: loss and delay of data packets, current phase deviations of digital signals, load levels of switching interfaces. With the help of commands from operational services specialists, the probe provides a secure connection to the tested Wi-Fi access point, the generation of special data packets with marking of network protocols, and also determines the real data transfer rate, explained in Globus Telecom.

The solution has a number of features: it monitors wireless communication networks online, increases control over the operation of serviced facilities, timely detects negative events occurring in geographically distributed communication nodes, the company added.

Mobile protected complex "SKIT" released for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

In 2017, the company released a mobile protected complex "SKIT" for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The IT system allows automatic monitoring of all objects and resources of the customer's information and communication infrastructure and detection of incidents related to unplanned shutdown of services, deterioration of the quality of communication channels, failures in the operation of server and telecommunication equipment. In addition, the development ensures the accounting and visualization of the location of IT infrastructure objects on geographical maps, logic diagrams, building floors.

Using the mobile version of the IT solution, you can simultaneously monitor 3,000 pieces of communication equipment and 2,000 automated workstations. The software package is capable of processing network traffic at speeds up to 450 Mbps on-line. At the same time, the standard for turning on and entering the normal mode of operation of the mobile "SKIT" is 15 minutes.

The domestic product "SKIT" is certified by the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of Russia, has an FSTEC certificate confirming its compliance with the requirements of protection against unauthorized access to information. The software product is registered in Rospatent and is included in the "Unified Register of Russian Programs for Computers and Databases."

Compatibility with Elbrus platform

Globus-Telecom (a subsidiary of Rostelecom) and MCST tested the compatibility and interaction of the SKIT hardware and software complex and the platform of the modern domestic microprocessor Elbrus. The testing work was completed successfully.

Testing was carried out by a joint group of specialists from MCST and Globus-Telecom. The purpose of the tests is to check the operability of the Russian system for monitoring protected telecommunication networks "SKIT" on the hardware platform "Elbrus."

The functional components of the IT system were tested on the ICST equipment in nine positions: measurement accuracy, volume and speed of telemetry data processing, compatibility of the monitoring system based on a trusted hardware and software platform with communication equipment.

Testing was carried out for the correct interpretation of event information and ensuring a mode close to real time when solving the problems of operational analysis of the operability of communication nodes.

Tests of the IT system response rate to operator commands were also successfully completed and timely reporting in various formats was ensured. With the help of special settings, experts have achieved telemetry processing speeds up to 450 Mbps.

Tests showed the correct interaction of the automated system "SKIT" and the computer complex with the processor "Elbrus-2C +." According to the expert group, the SKIT software will be compatible with the Elbrus servers of the following generations: Elbrus-4S, Elbrus-8S.

The developments of both companies can be used together to provide monitoring, accounting, support for the operation of telecommunication networks and critical information infrastructure facilities.

Interface with industrial equipment control controllers

The special operator of communication services Globus-Telecom (a subsidiary of Rostelecom) on September 18, 2017 announced the creation of a functionality for pairing the SKIT system with industrial equipment control controllers.

According to Globus Telecom, the SKIT monitoring system module was introduced at the MPSC to monitor important parameters of the diesel generator performance. In this case, monitoring is carried out through the interface with the DSE 7320 automatic start controller, which, when the external voltage is disconnected from the monitored object, connects the electricity generated by the generator to this object. At the same time, the module itself is configured and can also be used to monitor any industrial equipment having digital interfaces for collecting values ​ ​ of monitored parameters.

With the help of the presented module, the SKIT system receives information on all parameters of interest to operating industrial equipment, including:

  • readings of engine hours meters,
  • oil pressure level,
  • frequency of generator operation,
  • coolant temperature,
  • engine speed,
  • generator and battery voltage level,
  • no battery charge,
  • overcurrent,
  • equipment shutdown due to engine malfunction.

Mobile version of SKIT

On April 21, 2017, Globus-Telecom presented a mobile version of the PAC SKIT. The technology is designed for continuous control of secure telecommunication networks from mobile communication nodes of power structures.

The IT system allows you to automatically monitor all objects and resources of the customer's information and communication infrastructure, identify incidents related to unplanned service shutdowns, deterioration of the quality of communication channels, failures in the operation of server and telecommunication equipment. The development ensures accounting and visualization of the location of IT infrastructure objects on geographical maps, logic diagrams, building floors.

Through the mobile version, you can simultaneously monitor 3 thousand units of communication equipment and 2 thousand automated workstations. The software complex is capable of processing network traffic at speeds up to 450 Mbps online. The standard for launching a mobile SKIT into normal mode is 15 minutes.

Transactional monitoring from GLOBUS-TELEKOM

Telecommunications operator GLOBUS-TELEKOM completed in November work on the creation of a smart module "Transaction Monitoring" in the development of the SKIT IT system.

The development is part of the SKIT hardware and software complex for monitoring, accounting and technical support. The smart module is a software robot that performs intelligent service quality control. PAC "SKIT" is compatible with APK "MMSN"

On August 24, 2015, the companies Globe-telecom Research Institute Scale announced the completion of compatibility testing of the multi-protocol special-purpose router AGRARIAN AND INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX MMSN and the SKIT PAC.

On October 22, 2015, Globus-Telecom invited municipalities to automate accounting for IT resources.

Compatibility with SN Arbor computer

On December 14, 2015, it became known that Globus-Telecom had completed compatibility tests for a special-purpose electronic computer SN Arbor computer with the SKIT telecommunications infrastructure monitoring and management system.

The test results confirmed the correct interaction and operability of the SKIT system on Arbor computer. During the tests, the IT system online collected information about the state of the customer's equipment and monitored the appearance of various events by priority. No emergencies were detected, which means that SKIT and SN Arbor computers can be used together in automated complexes for managing the telecommunications infrastructure of an enterprise/institution to ensure monitoring, technical accounting and operation support processes.
