2021: Revocation of license for violations of federal laws and acts of the Central Bank

From April 2, 2021, the Bank of Russia revoked the license from the commercial bank Geobank (Moscow) and from JSC Maykopbank (Maykop). The regulator said that Geobank violated federal laws, as well as regulations of the Central Bank. Because of this, the Central Bank applied various sanctions to it, including imposing restrictions on attracting funds from depositors. In addition, the bank has completely lost its own funds.

The release also notes that Geobank used premises leased on the basis of contracts that were taken into account on the balance sheet with violations for its main activities. In addition, the bank did not timely reflect the relevant expenses in accounting.

By the decision of the Central Bank, a temporary administration was appointed to the bank, the powers of its governing bodies were suspended. Geobank participates in the deposit insurance system. According to SPARK, more than 55% of the bank is owned by Rukard LLC, among its owners - Rusoft LLC and eight individuals.
