New Partner Innovation Ecosystem

In June, 2017 at a partner forum the SAP CIS company declared transformation of a partner ecosystem which key purpose - transition from the linear supplier of annexes to the complex business partner in innovations and also the new models of work with partners directed to joint projects and developments.

SAP CIS launched the transformation of the ecosystem, within the framework of which it will develop the required competencies in the market among existing partners, as well as attract new companies to cooperate. It is planned to create an ecosystem of data scientists - experts in the transformation of business processes, ready to support the strategic initiatives of companies of any industry. So, in 2017, the Academy of Training of Industry Architects at Partner Companies is expected to open, with pilot training in sectors: retail, agriculture, consumer goods, discrete production. The goal is experts who focus on the needs of the client, the specifics and trends of the industry, understanding the necessary steps for its transformation and creating a smart business process architecture suitable for the company. It is expected that after the launch of the pilot training, the energy, construction, metallurgy and mining sectors will also be covered.

As part of the announced strategy, work with partners will also be aimed at creating joint products and developments to generate a new business associated with the active interest of companies in the market in the use of digital technologies: artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud services, the Internet of things, smart devices.

The company will analyze the existing partner network, categorize it taking into account traditional partners and develop new types of partnerships. SAP drops claim against Energy Consulting

The Russian representative office of the German company SAP at the beginning of 2017 refused requirements for its Russian partner-integrator - Energy Consulting - in the amount of p449.3 million. At a meeting of the Moscow Arbitration Court on April 19, 2017, a representative of SAP CIS LLC demanded that the proceedings in the case be terminated in connection with the refusal of claims. The court granted the plaintiff's claim - the proceedings were terminated[3].

As follows from the case file, the lawsuit was filed on March 25, 2016. In it, SAP made a demand to recover p417,7 million under the agreement dated June 30, 2010, p128 thousand under the license agreement dated February 9, 2012, p2.1 million under the license agreement dated April 9, 2013 and p517,5 thousand under the agreement of April 11, 2007, as well as a penalty (in the wording "for the use of someone else's money) in the amount of p28.9 million.

SAP-Based Partner Solutions to Qualify for Russian Software Registry

SAP is discussing with a number of Russian partners how to combine its software with their products so that it can enter the register of Russian software as part of partner solutions, Rolf Schumann, SAP CTO in EMEA & MEE, told TAdviser in March 2016.

At what stage is the work with partners on this issue, as well as in other details, Schumann chose not to deepen, explaining this by the reluctance to create now the ground for customer expectations. He mentioned only the OEM model as a possible form of interaction.

According to the same model, for example, EMC expects to get into the registry with the Documentum solution, which TAdviser wrote earlier. Among the existing Russian SAP OEM partners in Russia, for example, are Diasoft and CDC.

SAP CIS CEO Pavel Gontarev, in a conversation with TAdviser, recalled that the registry is designed to create a database of Russian software, and SAP does not hide what is a global company headquartered in Germany.

Speaking about the inclusion of which products in the registry SAP is primarily interested in, Schumann noted that in this matter you need to be guided by customer demand. Among the products for which there is now the greatest demand in the market, he attributed the SAP HANA and SAP ERP platform, as well as the Internet of Things technologies for monitoring, management, preventive maintenance.

Rolf Schumann noted that the public sector is of interest to his company. In addition to government agencies, SAP has many clients-companies with state participation. One of the leading sectors for SAP in Russia is the oil and gas sector, in which companies are associated with the state, says Schumann.

According to the National Association of Electronic Commerce Participants, in 2014, Russian government agencies purchased SAP software for 5.6 billion rubles. For comparison, the same indicator for Oracle is 4.6 billion rubles, and for Microsoft - by 3.05 billion rubles.

SAP is open to cooperation with the state, Rolf Schumann emphasized. Earlier, SAP, for example, was meeting the proposals of the Russian authorities to show them the source product codes for studying, he said. In particular, the company opened product codes such as SAP HANA and SAP Business Suite 4.

In the spring of 2015, SAP, in order not to lose contracts in the Russian public sector, suggested that the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Industry and Trade conclude an investment agreement, under which it pledged to invest in the development of technologies in the country, partially localize the development, creating new jobs[4]. At the same time, SAP was ready to undergo any checks, proving that there were no undeclared capabilities in its software.

New Partner Solution Certification for SAP HANA Cloud Platform (SAP HCP)

In March 2016, the company SAP Labs LPG introduced a new proposal from the Integration and Certification Center (SAP SAP ICC) to certify cloud-based partner solutions (SAP HANA Cloud Platform (SAP HCP) SAP HCP). The proposed certification model will simplify and unify the integration of partner applications with SAP HCP, help increase the share of cloud development in the Russian partner ecosystem and the emergence of new solutions on the SAP HCP platform. An important advantage is also the inclusion of a certified solution in the online partner registry. Certification is one of the key criteria for placement in the SAP Store, which significantly accelerates the launch of the product and increases its recognition. Once certified, development companies can leverage the capabilities of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform to accelerate application implementation and deployment in the SAP solution landscape. This is also facilitated by comprehensive support from SAP ICC consultants, who accompany developers at all stages of solution creation.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center supports partner innovation at all stages of their solutions lifecycle since 1996 and celebrates their 20th Anniversary this year. Today, SAP ICC offers more than 130 certified integration scenarios covering the full range of SAP technologies and solutions. The Russian division of SAP ICC was opened in Moscow in the summer of 2015.

SAP Fixes Euro for Maintenance Contracts

The SAP CIS company (SAP CIS), the supplier of corporate business applications, announced in January, 2015 the program of fixing of euro exchange rate for the Russian clients and partners for contracts for maintenance for 2015. When paying for maintenance services, the domestic exchange rate of the European currency will be set at 53.5 rubles/euro.

SAP CIS Presents Partner Relationship Strategy

The global partner programs SAP Partner Edge for Application Development, CAP Co-Innovation Lab and OEM (Original  Equipment  Manufacturer) are operating in Russia and CIS, aimed at expanding the ecosystem of independent software developers based on SAP technologies and the ability to sell ready-made partner solutions to SAP customers around the world. This global collaboration provides partners with unique opportunities to expand sales markets and develop industry expertise based on best practices.

In 2015, the SAP strategy for the development of the ecosystem appeared in the direction - S/4HANA. This innovative platform, which has become the foundation of the next generation of ERP systems, is the company's most important innovation since SAP R/3. Since the release of S/4HANA, 300 people have been trained from the partner ecosystem of Russia and the CIS countries. The number of partners selling SAP HANA more than doubled, and the number of transactions concluded by partners - 2.5 times.

The number of cloud partners of the company in 2014 increased by almost 6 times. Cloud technology remains a strategic focus for SAP and its partners. As part of the cloud solutions training and certification program, 157 people from the partner ecosystem were trained, already about 50 at the beginning of this year.

At the end of 2015, total sales of SAP partners grew by a record 84% compared to 2014, and the total number of companies that signed a partnership agreement with SAP CIS increased by 35%. The number of S4HANA partners increased by 75%, for Cloud solutions - by 225%. The 20-15 consultant training program over six years has doubled the ecosystem, thus, 20,000 SAP consultants in Russia and the CIS were trained at the training center.

2014: SAP Partner EDGE for Application Development
