2022: Launch of production of composite products for MS-21 and SSJ aircraft in the Moscow region

In September 2022, the Moscow region for 1 billion rubles launched the production of composite products for MS-21 and SSJ aircraft. This is a project of the Rubin Aviation Corporation in Balashikha.

At the new site, the company will produce products from carbon composite materials for domestic passenger aircraft, including MS-21 and SSJ-NEW, as well as composite materials for the nuclear, oil and gas and engineering industries.

In the suburbs launched the production of composite products for aircraft MS-21 and SSJ

The products of the plant are intended for civilian aircraft of the design bureau named after, and Tupoleva Ilyushina. Yakovleva The launch of the new building will allow the company to increase the production of products from carbon composites by 2.3 times - up to 7 thousand units per year.

By September 7, 2022, Rubin had already begun production of composite brakes for MS-21 and SSJ-NEW aircraft, in the assembly of which only foreign analogues were previously used. Products of the Moscow Region plant are not inferior to imported ones in terms of wear resistance, have high heat resistance, low weight and high stability of operating characteristics.

When receiving the loan, we were accompanied by specialists from the Industrial Development Fund (FRP) of the Moscow Region, who helped to collect documents and issue an application to the FRP of the Russian Federation. The preferential loan allowed us to build a new body, where we will produce brakes with carbon friction discs for MS-21 and SSJ-NEW. The use of composites increases the reliability of operation and increases the life of brake discs, reduces the downtime of aircraft and reduces the cost of replacing and repairing brakes, "said Igor Ryapin, General Director of AK Rubin.

The history of the Rubin aviation corporation is inextricably linked with the development of domestic aviation. By order of the People's Commissar of the Aviation Industry M.V. Khrunichev dated March 15, 1946 No. 113c, an experimental aircraft wheel plant was created on the basis of the OKB of plant No. 219 with assignment of number 279 to it.
