On September 4, 2017, Autodesk announced the appointment of Yulia Shmakotina as head of the strategic projects department in Russia and the CIS. In this role, she will be responsible for developing relations with major Russian companies in the field of construction and industry and the implementation of complex projects that potentially affect the development of these industries. The tasks of the department also include bringing a number of new Autodesk solutions to the Russian market.

Julia Shmakotina has been working at Autodesk for the past 6 years. She began her career at the company as a partner manager, responsible for attracting new partners and developing business with online stores. In 2013, she headed the marketing direction of Autodesk CIS.

Before joining Autodesk, she worked at Cisco and Microsoft, where she worked with partners and distributors.
