Committee of Natural Resources of the Kursk Region Kurskoblprirodnadzor

The Committee of Natural Resources of the Kursk Region (Kurskoblprirodnadzor) is an sectoral executive body of the Kursk Region, implementing the state policy of the Kursk Region in the assigned field of activity, as well as the powers transferred to the Russian Federation. The main tasks of the department are:

• Implementation in the Kursk region of the rights and powers of the Kursk region in accordance with federal and Kursk region legislation in the field of environmental protection, environmental management and ensuring environmental safety of the population.
• Development of draft laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Kursk region, methodological documents in the field of environmental protection, nature management and ensuring environmental safety of the population.
• Implementation of regional state environmental supervision in accordance with the competence in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation in the manner established by the Administration of the Kursk Region.
• Ensuring the functioning of the mineral resource complex in the region, assisting in meeting the needs of enterprises and the population of the region with natural resources.
• Interaction between the activities of the executive authorities of the region, territorial federal executive bodies, enterprises and organizations of the natural resource complex in the field of study, reproduction, rational use and protection of natural resources, environmental protection and environmental safety in cases established by federal legislation, regulatory legal acts of the region^[1] of^[1].

History

2020: Association with the Forestry Committee

In August 2020, the Governor of the Kursk Region announced the merger of the Committee for Environmental Safety and Environmental Management and the Forestry Committee into one structure - the Committee for Natural Resources of the Kursk Region^[2].

2019: Renamed the Committee for Environmental Safety and Environmental Management of the Kursk Region

In September 2019, the Governor of the Kursk Region approved a new structure for the regional administration. The Department of Environmental Safety and Nature Management of the Kursk Region was renamed the Committee for Environmental Safety and Nature Management of the Kursk Region^[3][4].

The Department of Environmental Safety and Management of the Kursk Region was an industry executive body of the Kursk Region that managed and exercised the rights of the Kursk Region in the field of environmental protection and natural resources, environmental safety and rational environmental management, as well as powers transferred to the Russian Federation in the field of water relations and environmental expertise.
