In the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East the system of a video conferencing based on Cisco technologies is created

On September 17, 2018 the Cisco company reported that in the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East the project on creation of a system of a video conferencing based on Cisco technologies is implemented. According to the company, for September, 2018 use of modern tools for joint work allowed to increase efficiency of the working groups, to reduce time and finance costs. The project was performed with assistance of specialists of IBS Platformix company.

Thanks to Cisco product introduction decision making speed for September, 2018 doubled, at the same time the number of the monthly meetings held in the VKS format increased from 20 up to 100. It demonstrates to as far as the system of a video conferencing is important for cooperation of people, business and the power. Project Tasks

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has representations in Vladivostok, Moscow, Khabarovsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In 2017 before department of information technologies of this government institution in Moscow there was a task of improvement of intra team communication and optimization of workflow. It was required to increase decision making speed within the ministry and consequently – to improve interaction of the employees who are geographically deleted from each other. In addition, it was necessary to implement the means for work with citizens' appeals ensuring comfortable joint work in applications.

Project Progress

As a result of careful monitoring of products, available in the market, a choice was made for benefit of the solution Cisco which exceeded many competitors in simplicity of operation, performance, functionality and in respect of ability to integrate with products of other vendors.

Project Results

According to representatives of the company, the created system video conferencings integrated stationary and mobile jobs of employees and meeting rooms of the ministry. The universal hardware-software platform became a core of a system Cisco Meeting Server. With its help any specialist can make appointment and be connected to meetings, using a visual communication system in the meeting room, desktop video terminals, mobile the device or normal browser. Also within the project for the Ministry are delivered routers ISR 4321, server BE6M, the CTI-CMS-1000-K9 server, the cameras SX10, SX20 and Cisco Room Kit Plus. This equipment has functions of automatic guidance of the camera on the active conferee and formations of an optimal perspective of shooting therefore communication becomes the most natural and approximate to a format of a personal meeting.

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East was provided with the solution which does video conferences same convenient and effective as though all participants of these meetings were in one room. At the same time such meetings not more difficult than ordinary phone call will be organized. In practice it means that each participant of the meeting can see accurately and clearly the colleagues and to communicate with them regardless of the fact that before it — the notebook, the equipment Cisco for video conferences or the smartphone. Joint work will allow the staff of the ministry to solve quicker assigned tasks, it is more productive to use time and to be more mobile, participating in online meetings from any point of Russia. As it was reported, considering geographical distribution of representative offices of the ministry, the possibility of Cisco Meeting Server to reduce costs for channels and to provide at the same time high quality of communication was of particular importance. It manages to be reached due to automatic collecting of the geodistributed conferences with transfer of a multistreaming video between regions. Each participant of the meeting is automatically connected to the next available server, and load of the channel between regions does not exceed the set threshold. As licensing of conferences in Cisco Meeting Server is not tied to the specific server, the uniform pool of licenses works at all conference resources of the company in all regions, considerably reducing costs for implementation of service.
