2022: DPR and LPR subscribers switched to the Russian telephone numbering system + 7

The Ministry of Digital Affairs on the official website reported that mobile subscribers of the DPR and LPR will now use the prefixes of the Russian numbering system. They will save their numbers, but instead of Ukrainian codes + 38071 and + 38072 they will begin to use + 7 (949) and + 7 (959).

Subscribers switched to the new numbering system from May 7, 2022, the transition occurred without replacing SIM cards. As the Ministry of Digital Affairs reported in an official release, such a step will free the inhabitants of the republics from a communication blockade and allow them to remain in touch with relatives and friends.

This is now especially important for those with relatives and friends scattered in different cities. Now it is not just an opportunity to stay in touch with loved ones, it is primarily a breakthrough of the coherent blockade, "said the acting Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the LPR Andrei Eremenko.

We support such a step by Russia and are grateful for the opportunity to make calls not only on the territory of the republic, but also outside its borders. Replacing the code numbering of DPR subscribers on calls is a logical continuation of the implementation of previously signed agreements with Russia. We hope for further fruitful cooperation, "said the Minister of Communications of the DPR Igor Halepa.
