111 social objects of the Leningrad Region received the high-speed Internet from MTS

2019: Connection of 111 socially important objects in the Leningrad Region

On November 6, 2019 PJSC MTS announced a successful completion of the first stage of connection of socially important objects of the region to a data network.

Upon completion of the first stage of works 111 social objects in Vyborg, Vsevolozhsk, Priozersk, Tosnensky, Tikhvin and other areas of the Leningrad Region are connected to high-speed lines of communication. More than 50 objects – comprehensive schools, schools nursing homes and technical schools. Also access to the high-speed Internet appeared in district hospitals and medical and obstetrical centers, organizations of public authorities and local government. In many organizations access to network appeared for the first time.

In total by the end of 2021 the high-speed fixed Internet of MTS will appear in 424 socially important objects of the region. Works are carried out within the victory in an auction of the Ministry of the digital development, communication and mass communications of the Russian Federation which was taking place on the national project "Digital Economy of Russia".

Connection of the public, medical and educational institutions to high-speed communication lines, in addition to an exit in a global network, gives access to the whole ecosystem of digital services MTS which we are already ready to offer business and the management of the region depending on their requirements and tasks,

In total MTS will connect to the fixed Internet about five thousand socially important objects in nine regions of Russia - in the Amur, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Leningrad, Tambov, Tver, Yaroslavl regions, in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The amount of the contracts signed by MTS within the national project "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" was 3.93 billion rubles.
