Vlocity — the producer of the cloud and mobile software created based on infrastructure of Salesforce founded in 2014. The company specializes in creation of the CRM solutions intended for non-profit, medical government, power, financial and other organizations.

History

2020: Salesforce purchased Vlocity for $1.33 billion

At the end of February, 2020 Salesforce announced acquisition of Vlocity for $1.33 billion. It is going to close the transaction in the second quarter 2021 financial year, at first regulators should approve it.

The founder and the leading analyst of CRM Essentials Brent Leary considers that Salesforce sees in Vlocity the important tool for further business development.

Salesforce expands the opportunities for providing industry solutions, developing strategic partnership with independent software developers, such as Vlocity and Veeva. According to the founder and the leading analyst of Constellation Research Ray Wang, without Salesforce Vlocity would have no such big future.

They should be together. It was not obligatory for Salesforce to buy them. They could build up further partnership, but the best time for purchase came now … It is the excellent transaction. Vlocity provides them the necessary industry platform. What is even more important, it preserves their purchases by Google company and [can bring] to $10 billion in the form of additional revenue growth of the industries within the next four years — the specialist considers.

To the transaction with Salesforce the Vlocity company attracted in total $163 million investments and was estimated at $1 billion according to the results of a final round of financing. Among investors there was a venture division of Salesforce.[1]
