2022: Start of the project "Moscow Postamat"

In the capital, the implementation of the citywide project "Moscow Postamat" has begun. This is stated in a message published on the official portal of the Mayor of Moscow on October 24, 2022. At the first stage, the construction of the city delivery network will be placed in the entrances of residential buildings and in the adjoining territories in the Central, North-Western and South-Eastern administrative districts of the capital. 2021: Launch of the urban network of checkpoints

In July 2021, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the city of Moscow announced the launch of the "City Network of Checkpoints." In these devices, it will be possible to receive goods from online stores, orders from cafes, restaurants and grocery stores, various documents and certificates, send parcels without visiting the post office, return defective or inappropriate goods, send equipment to service centers for warranty and post-warranty service and receive back. 2020: Increase in the number of postamates in Russia by 1.5 times

According to GIS estimates, "by the end of 2020 in the largest Russian cities there were 7616 posts against 4938 a year earlier. Infoline Analytics counted more than 18 thousand units of such equipment installed throughout the Russian Federation.

The largest number of points are located in the three largest cities of the country - Moscow (3019), St. Petersburg (1212) and Novosibirsk (461).

In Novosibirsk, in 2020, the number of checkpoints increased by 88.1% (to 461 terminals). In Omsk, the growth was 9.9% (233). At the same time, in Krasnoyarsk, the number of posts increased by one and a half times - up to 115 terminals. This is the most significant annual increase among large cities of the Russian Federation. In 2020, the number of postamates in Yekaterinburg increased by 75.8%, to 422.

The market leader, according to Infoline Analytics, is Ozon, which has more than 7,500 of its own posts. PickPoint is in second place (about 5300 points).

The general director of Infoline Analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, in a conversation with Vedomosti, noted that buyers in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic have become more cautious about courier delivery, except when it comes to ordering products or cooking.

The postamate market will continue to grow. Burmistrov predicts an increase in the number of points by 2-3 times in the next 2-3 years, they will stand in every large chain store. However, the points of issue of the order will not lose popularity and will continue to develop in one form or another.

Data Insight, according to Natalia Krupenina, its leading analyst at Logistics, registered 134 percent growth in the Russian post office market from May 2019 to September 2020.[1]
