2015: Samsung SDS marks at ten the largest IT service providers

On April 15, 2015 Samsung SDS which as a part of South Korean conglomerate Samsung Group provides different IT services, announced ambitious plans for the next years.^[1]

According to the CEO of Samsung SDS Jun Dong-soo, by 2020 the company expects to become one of ten largest service providers and solutions in information technology field. It is for this purpose going to pay special attention to such directions as IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing (Business Process Outsourcing, BPO) and also to different corporate solutions.

Will place emphasis on social services and mobile, analytical and cloud computing on the market of IT outsourcing Samsung SDS. Samsung SDS is going to treble revenue by 2020

Being a participant of the Samsung SDS BPO market is going to receive orders in the field of logistics. The company, using solutions in the field of Internet of Things and analytics, she intends to help the customers to increase transparency and accuracy of deliveries of products.

In March, 2015 the company signed the memorandum of understanding with Oracle within which the companies began joint development and sale of logistic software platforms based on Samsung SDS IT solutions.

Having expanded the IT-Business, Samsung SDS hopes to treble revenue by 2020, having achieved its size in 20 trillion wons ($18.3 billion), against 7.89 trillion wons ($7.2 billion) in 2014. The profit of the company in 2014 was measured by 593.4 billion wons ($541 million).

According to June Don-su, Samsung SDS is going to work in close cooperation with Samsung Electronics corporation which actively invests in solutions of mobile security and administration of smartphones and tablets in corporate environment. These products, including the platform Knox, Samsung SDS she intends to use for the purpose of providing the clients with additional level of information security.
