One of the key drivers of the industry is the deterioration of the security situation: this is the growth of data leaks, the development of new fraudulent schemes and an increase in the intensity of cyber attacks. Companies around the world continue to make digital transformation and actively implement mobile devices, which opens up additional opportunities for attackers. Smartphones and other portable gadgets often contain sensitive corporate and personal data, and therefore are targeted by cybercriminals. Organizations recognize that conventional security measures are not enough to effectively protect mobile devices. Therefore, there is an increasing focus on integrated security strategies, covering encryption, advanced threat detection mechanisms, and the ability to remotely destroy information.
Regulatory requirements also have a stimulating effect on the market. Governments and regulators in different countries impose strict data protection rules, and therefore organizations are forced to implement comprehensive security strategies. Violation of these rules can lead to significant fines and reputational damage.
The study also said employees at many companies use their personal mobile devices for work purposes, posing an additional threat to corporate infrastructures. Against this background, organizations are forced to implement additional security measures to prevent unauthorized access and protect confidential information. At the same time, the ongoing migration of enterprises to cloud services leads to an increase in demand for solutions that protect data in the cloud.
By deployment type, the industry is segmented into cloud, on-premises, and hybrid solutions. In 2023, the first type of tools brought in revenues of $1.55 billion: such systems provide ease of deployment, scalability and cost-effectiveness. Local products accounted for $1.25 billion: these solutions are in demand among organizations that give priority to maximum control over their infrastructures and compliance with regulatory requirements. Hybrid systems combining elements of cloud and local tools brought in $0.65 billion. Among the significant players in the global market are named:
- Bitdefender;
- Acronis;
- IBM;
- Kaspersky Lab;
- Vormetric;
- Microsoft;
- Eset;
- Cylance;
- Trend Micro;
- Digital Guardian;
- McAfee;
- Sophos;
- Symantec;
- Check Point;
- Forcepoint.
Geographically, North America was leading in 2023 with an estimate of $1.147 billion: there is a high demand for data protection solutions in corporate environments. In second place is located Europe with costs at the level of $0.892 billion, and the Asia-Pacific region closes the top three with $0.581 billion. Another approximately $0.31 billion was brought by South America. The contribution of the Middle East and Africa amounted to $0.519 billion.
Market Research Future analysts believe that in the future, the CAGR in the market under consideration will be 7.3%. As a result, by 2032, spending on mobile data protection solutions could increase to $6.5 billion.[1]
