Digitalization of logistics based on the industry solution "1C-Rarus"

The Verny retail chain  has switched to an up-to-date logistics management system. On the basis of the software product "1C: Transport logistics, forwarding and vehicle management KORP" a single uninterrupted supply system has been built  for 1 140 supermarkets of  the Verny network. The solution was produced by 1C together with the 1C-Rarus Development Center. This was reported on March 28, 2023 by 1C-Rarus.

Together with the increase in the number of outlets, the load on the transport logistics department increased. The past logistics management system is outdated, and the amount of accumulated data slowed down. There were difficulties with scaling  and integration with third-party services and transport monitoring systems. Improvements to meet growing business requirements and support for updates required high costs.

To increase the productivity of the logistics department, it was decided to switch to a reliable and productive system that can be developed and scaled. The chain's stores operate every day, without holidays or weekends. On the basis of the software product "1C: Transport logistics, forwarding and management of KORP vehicles ," a single uninterrupted supply system for Verny chain stores has been built.

Project results:

  • The process of routing flights has been accelerated. Store orders for delivery are loaded via the WMS system in 1C: Transport Logistics, Expediting and Motor Vehicle Management, then distributed to routing lists. Waybills are created and checked out , including with the help of a batch statement.
  • Reduced by 50% labor costs for monitoring the tracking of fuel losses and deviations from routes. Integration with the Omnicomm monitoring system helps to track the coordinates of cars, control mileage and fuel consumption, upload information on refueling and events. Integration with the Gazpromneft processing center has been set up to detail refueling online.
  • The accounting of spare parts has become transparent. A tool for monitoring the situation for installed engines, tires, batteries and even first-aid kits has appeared. The program reminds of a decrease in the number of irreducible spare parts and the  need to replenish stocks.
  • Registration of car repairs has been introduced. The system analyzes requests for repairs and expenses for support and renewal of the fleet. Management sees which vehicles are the most unprofitable and makes decisions on how to proceed.
  • Maintenance accounting is organized. Mechanics receive a notification about the approaching maintenance deadlines , an application for car service is automatically formed. The logistics manager cannot choose and send such a car on a flight. Thus, the safety of transportation is increased. The absence of inter-service intervals minimizes the cost of downtime of the retail network.
  • The following improvements in the service indicators of the retail network were identified: the level of store delivery service (timely delivery to each store) increased by more than  5% and the level of van utilization (transport load efficiency) increased by more than 4%.

100,000 flights a year using 1S:TLE Corp

On March 31, 2022, the Verny retail chain announced the introduction of 1C: Transport logistics, forwarding and vehicle management. The system helps process more than 1,000 transportation orders per day and schedule more than 100,000 flights per year.

The company has four own distribution centers and one leased one. Goods to the chain's stores are delivered by its own fleet, which consists of 300 cars. Logistics receives more than 1,000 transportation orders per day. More than 100,000 flights are made from five warehouses each year.

In 2021, the company opened more than 150 stores. Together with the increase in retail outlets, the load on the transport logistics department increased. The past logistics management system is outdated, and the amount of accumulated data slowed down. There were difficulties with scaling and integration with third-party services and transport monitoring systems. Improvements to meet growing business requirements and support for updates required high costs.

The management of Verny decided to switch to a system that would help increase the productivity of the logistics department. The main requirements for the solution are fault tolerance, scalability, the ability to quickly refine with minimal costs. They decided to create the system on the basis of "1C: Transport logistics, forwarding and vehicle management KORP."

Results:

  • Internal transportation is automated. Delivery orders are automatically loaded from the WMS system to the 1S:TLE, then manually or automatically distributed to routing lists. Waybills are created and checked out, including with the help of a batch statement.
  • Automated fleet management. Integration with the Omnikomm monitoring system has been set up, which allows you to track the coordinates of cars, control mileage and fuel consumption, download data on refueling and events. Integration with the processing center has been set up to download data on refueling online.
  • Registration of maintenance and repairs of vehicles is organized. Spare parts accounting is fully automated.
  • You are configured to set up tasks for users, send messages, send documents and reports within the program.

In the next stage, it is planned to fully automate the management of the garage and personnel.
