2023: Winter Road Monitoring

System for monitoring the state of winter roads using computer vision.

Functionality and tasks to be solved

A portable software and hardware complex that allows you to measure damage to the road surface and recognize road infrastructure objects while driving from a car:

1. Window cloud from dots, obtained lidar in real; time

2. Video from the camera in real time;

3. Receiver GNSS data (current GPS location)

4. Road Status Report containing relevant measurements to generate quality claims/prescriptions to the wintering company;

5. Operator's workplace on the DBD GIS portal;

Results:

• Improving the level of industrial safety and improving the quality of working conditions by minimizing cases of freezing of people during measurement work;
• Improving the quality of monitoring and maintenance of winter travel and, as a result, minimizing cases of damage to transport;
• Reduction of external technical supervision costs;
• Reduction of costs for elimination of consequences of accidents (vehicle evacuation, repairs, etc.);
• Reduction of expenses for external technical supervision by several million rubles per year;
• Reduction of costs for the elimination of the consequences of accidents (evacuation of vehicles, repairs, etc.) to 10 million rubles per year
• Detection accuracy is more than 90%.
