2023: Creation of TrueConf VKS-based Rehabilitation Telemarrutation Bureau

The Clinic of the Brain Institute in Yekaterinburg has created a telemedicine complex for the provision of services for the remote rehabilitation of patients. Digital consultation platforms were created in Vladivostok, Ulan-Ude, Sevastopol, Nizhnevartovsk and Ufa and made it possible to transfer the process of outpatient rehabilitation of patients online. The central element of the telemedicine complex was the TrueConf Server VKS platform, with the help of which the clinic's specialists provide more than 7 thousand video consultations annually. This was announced on September 28, 2023 by TrueConf.

The Institute's Clinic Brain developed a project to create a telemedicine complex for the rehabilitation treatment of patients, which became the owner of a grant from the President - Russia "Organization of a resource center for the creation of educational telecommuting remote points of rehabilitation teams."

To create a telemedicine complex, the TrueConf Server VKS platform was used, which became a link between patients and clinic specialists. Previously used Zoom and Skype for Business did not meet the key KIM requirements for the security of confidential patient data and the fault tolerance of the video conferencing system. The TrueConf Server solution made it possible to replace the previously used foreign solutions and create a Telerehabilitation Bureau, which is used, among other things, to remotely advise patients with the most severe diseases. The bureau has become an online platform for remote rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases.

KIM specialists and doctors conduct online consultations, examinations and remote appointments of patients on remote treatment and medical patronage. This made it possible to organize an outpatient stage of remote medical rehabilitation, including for patients who have had COVID-19.

When choosing a VKS platform, KIM specialists preferred solutions with a high level of protection and fault tolerance. TrueConf Server has been deployed inside the corporate network of the clinic, data storage and processing is carried out on the server equipment of the institution, which guarantees employees full control over communications and excludes unauthorized access to confidential information about patients and personnel.

The institution's specialists can start video consultation in just one click, and video call recordings and information about each session are stored in the clinic's own IT infrastructure. Employees use both work PCs and personal devices and specially equipped offices for online consultations.

Specialists from the Brain Institute Clinic use TrueConf Server to conduct working video meetings and meetings, operational meetings and remote patient examinations. The main feature of the VKS platform for clinic specialists was the ease of use of the program not only by staff, but also by patients who participate in video conferencing in comfortable home conditions for them.

More than 7 thousand consultations are held annually on the TrueConf platform for more than 2 thousand patients with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system in a 24-hour and day hospital, as well as on an outpatient basis. With the introduction of TrueConf Server software, medical care became available to patients in VKS format, without the need for a regular visit to the clinic.
