2023: Suspension of automotive data supply for Russia

DAT-Rus LLC, which acts as the Russian representative office of the international company DAT Group with its central office in Germany (in Ostfildern), the developer of the SilverDAT line of IT products for the automotive industry, published a statement on its website on November 30, 2023 that automakers have suspended the supply of data for Russia.

Dear customers, unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, due to the implementation of international sanctions, DAT Gmbh, which has licensing rights to SilverDAT software products, is forced to immediately disable the transmission of all data on vehicles for Russia at the request of automakers, - said in an official statement of DAT-Rus LLC.

According to information provided on the DAT Group website, the company has been collecting, structuring and processing all kinds of automotive data for more than 90 years in order to provide accurate information to the industry. The SilverDAT product line supplied by the company includes tools to identify vehicles, calculate the cost of repair and assess damage, as well as means of communication with insurance companies in the process of resolving insurance claims.

The Insurance News Agency interviewed OSAGO insurers in order to find out how they will be affected by the termination of support for SilverDAT software in Russia. According to the data received, in its work this program is used by the companies "RESO-Garantia," "Paris." Yugoria used DAT Group software to an insignificant extent, Rosgosstrakh, AlfaStrakhovanie and Astro-Volga did not use it at all.

According to representatives of Paris, there is no full-fledged Russian analogue of SilverDAT yet, nevertheless, the company is already switching to a similar Russian product. At the same time, RESO-Garantia, Ugoria, Astro-Volga do not see any problems for customers and the work of insurers in connection with the termination of Dat-Rus LLC customer service from Russia.

Expert Sergei Dementiev is convinced that SilverDAT as a software package is now completely useless. As he commented to ASN, "of the existing analogues there is also the Audatex software complex, which at one time moved the servers to Russia, from purely Russian programs - PS Complex and AvtoBaz.
