Sales of wireless chargers in the world for the year reached $4.34 billion
At the end of 2024, the global market for wireless chargers reached $4.34 billion. The indicator of the previous year, when expenses in this area were estimated at $3.72 billion, was exceeded by 17%. This is stated in a study by Market Research Future, the results of which were published in mid-January 2025.
One of the main drivers of the industry, analysts call the growing popularity of wireless charging technologies. Support for the corresponding function eliminates the need to connect a cable, which increases the usability of smartphones and other mobile gadgets. In addition, the number of commercially available smartphones equipped with wireless charging facilities is constantly increasing. At the same time, the price of such devices continues to decline. Zones for replenishing the energy reserve of devices wirelessly appear in various public places.
Another stimulating factor is the growing popularity of smart homes. Residents of such dwellings often integrate wireless charging pads into various interior items, such as desktops. In addition, consumer awareness of the possibility of wireless power transmission is growing. Wireless charging technology for smartphones is supported by many modern cars.
Government programs to promote wireless charging are further driving industry growth. Authorities around the world are implementing various initiatives to promote wireless energy transmission technologies. This, in particular, is about providing financial incentives to companies that develop and produce wireless chargers, as well as investing in research and development of new wireless charging technologies.
The authors of the study note that Qi is the dominant wireless charging technology: it accounted for more than 90% of the global market in 2023. This standard is supported by a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops. In terms of design, flat panels, stands, solutions for charging several gadgets at once, etc. stand out. Products of the first type in 2023 accounted for more than 45% of the total revenue. In terms of power, analysts distinguish four categories: 5 W, 10 W, 15 W, as well as 20 W and above. Among them, the 10 W segment held the largest share in 2023, providing about 35% of global revenue. Smartphones, wearable gadgets, laptops and headphones are named as the key areas of use of wireless charging technologies. The dominant position is occupied by smartphones. Among the significant players in the industry are:
- LG;
- Klipsch;
- JBL;
- Bowers Wilkins;
- Mophie;
- Huawei;
- Sony;
- Sonos;
- Ultimate Ears;
- Anker;
- Belkin;
- Harman Kardon;
- Samsung;
- Bose;
- Xiaomi.
From a geographical point of view, North America is the leader, which is due to the high level of technology development, a large base of smartphone owners, etc. In second place is Europe, where consumer awareness of wireless charging is growing. At the same time, the Asia-Pacific region, South America, the Middle East and Africa are showing steady growth rates due, among other things, to an increase in smartphone penetration.
In the future, analysts at Market Research Future believe that the industry will demonstrate sustainable development. The compound percentage CAGR is expected to be 16.76%. As a result, by 2032, costs on a global scale could rise to $15 billion.[1]
The volume of the global market for chargers for mobile devices for the year reached $38.25 billion
In 2024, sales of chargers for mobile devices on a global scale amounted to $38.25 billion. For comparison, a year earlier, the volume of this sector in monetary terms was estimated at $36.06 billion. Thus, an increase of about 6% was recorded, as stated in the review of Grand View Research, which TAdviser got acquainted with in early September 2025.
One of the key drivers of the industry, the authors of the study call the growing distribution of various mobile gadgets - smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, fitness trackers, etc. Against this background, sales of chargers are increasing to replenish the energy supply of batteries in various places - at home, in the office or in the car.
Another stimulating factor is technological advances, including fast charging systems. In addition, the popularity of wireless charging solutions is growing, which provide increased convenience and ease of use. Leading industry players, analysts say, are investing heavily in the development of advanced chargers with the ability to transmit energy wirelessly: this leads to an increase in the overall market size. At the same time, intelligent power management systems and adaptive charging protocols increase energy efficiency and extend battery life, solving important problems related to the durability and battery life of gadgets.
Analysts are also focusing on universal charger interfaces like USB Type-C. On the one hand, standardization can reduce the amount of electronic waste, improve compatibility between equipment from various manufacturers and improve the usability of mobile devices. But, on the other hand, as noted in the study, this approach can negatively affect innovations, imposing restrictions on the designs of chargers and the technological solutions used in them. In addition, compliance with standardization requirements can lead to increased costs for manufacturers, which will potentially result in higher prices for products.
By connection type, the market is segmented into wired and wireless chargers. Products of the first type provided 72.8% of the total revenue in 2023. The dominance of such devices is due to their higher efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness compared to wireless counterparts. Wired solutions provide faster, more stable charging speeds, which are critical for high-power devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.
In terms of power, segments up to 30 W, from 30 to 60 W, from 60 to 75 W and more than 75 W are distinguished. The largest share of revenue falls on products of the first type. Geographically, the Asia-Pacific region leads with 41.2% of sales in monetary terms. Globally, significant industry players are named:
- Alpha Group;
- Fantasia Trading LLC (Anker Innovations);
- Apple;
- Aukey Official;
- Baseus;
- Belkin;
- Elecom;
- Hama GmbH & Co KG;
- Inter Ikea Systems B.V.;
- Intenso International GmbH;
- j5create;
- Mazer;
- Zagg;
- Nanami;
- RavPower;
- Rorry;
- Samsung;
- Sitecom Europe BV;
- Cheero USA;
- Ugreen Limited;
- Xiaomi.
Analysts at Grand View Research believe that in the future, the CAGR in the global mobile charger market will be 6.4%. Thus, by 2030, costs could increase to $55.56 billion.[2]
