Oracle laid off several hundred employees as part of business restructuring

Oracle has laid off several hundred employees as part of its ongoing business restructuring. This became known on August 8, 2022.

The layoffs affected several departments of the company at once, but the ranks of specialists in the field of marketing and quality of service were most seriously thinned. According to Business Insider, the number of personnel in some of Oracle's marketing teams has decreased by 30-50%. In some cases, managers were allowed to independently select candidates for dismissal.

Representatives of the department for the development of Oracle Advertising and Customer Experience (ACX) services also fell under the reduction in staff. This is a package of cloud business applications in the areas of advertising, marketing, sales, e-commerce and customer service. According to one of the employees of the company, the team of the ACX division, one might say, was destroyed.

Mass layoffs are taking place against the background of a change in Oracle priorities. The company intends to pay more attention to work on cloud services for the healthcare sector. The dismissed employees at Oracle were explained that the company was forced to part with them due to restructuring and reorganization due to the arrival of a new management.

Mass layoffs of employees are a everyday phenomenon for Oracle. The company's restructuring expenses for fiscal 2022 amounted to $191 million, a year earlier - $431 million, follows from the company's statements.

At the same time, Oracle does not refuse to hire new personnel at all, just the company's recruiters act more selectively, strengthening priority areas. So the infrastructure division (Cloud Infrastructure) is ready to accept 500 newcomers - the corresponding vacancies are posted on the Oracle Oracle website[1].

Laying off thousands of employees around the world

On July 11, 2022, it became known about mass layoffs at Oracle. The American company is forced to cut staff amid rising costs.

According to The Information, thousands of jobs may be liquidated at Oracle by early August 2022. The main layoffs will fall on offices in the United States and Europe. It is expected that the personnel purge will affect, among other things, those who are engaged in marketing promotion of software.

Oracle fires thousands of employees to save $1bn

The layoffs became part of Oracle's plans to cut costs by $1 billion. The company's spending rose sharply after the TikTok video service agreed to host the data of its American users on Oracle cloud servers.

In addition, the decision to optimize costs, including by cutting personnel, was influenced by the purchase of a manufacturer software for health care Cerner $28.3 billion (the deal was closed in June 2022). As a result of this transaction, Oracle's staff grew by about 28 thousand people.

Together with ordinary employees, Oracle will leave Marketing Director, who headed the TikTok interaction team, Ariel Kelman, as well as Senior Director for Solutions Promotion SaaS Juergen Lindner. It is noted that Lindner's team faced potential reorganization and layoffs.

On July 6, 2022, CNews, citing its sources, reported that Oracle had announced the dismissal of employees of the Russian representative office. Staff are expected to leave the company on August 31, 2022.

According to one of the interlocutors of the publication, about 200-300 people worked in the Russian representative office of Oracle.

2021: Mass exit of Oracle Cloud executives over 'culture of fear'

In early June 2021, details were revealed about the attitude of the head of OracleCloud Infrastructure Clay Maguirk to his subordinates. Sources of Business Insider claim that Maguire's leadership style includes insulting, humiliating and suppressing colleagues and employees, and a culture of fear reigns in the cloud division. The failure of the cloud project for online retail

In mid-August 2020, it became known that Oracle had failed the cloud project for online retail and is now dissolving employees of the relevant department. Social media posts confirm that the Oracle Commerce development teams Commerce Cloud in both (Cambridge Massachusetts Ireland) and are already disbanded, and employees are preparing for more cuts. The layoffs were written by The Register.

Oracle Commerce's e-commerce solution came as a result of its acquisition of ATG, whose customers included major retailers and banks including Tesco, Burberry and Deutsche Bank. Oracle renamed ATG Oracle Commerce, continued platform upgrades, and launched Commerce Cloud, a software-as-a-service toolkit that solution providers were required to use to quickly design and deploy customizable e-commerce sites to their customers. But the revamped cloud project found no support in the crowded online retail platform market. Oracle has not upgraded the cloud product, according to sources from The Register. Old ATG customers did not consider the update valuable, and potential new customers were repelled by the inability to integrate with cloud services of other providers.

Oracle has failed a cloud project for online retail and is now disbanding its developers

One problem with Oracle Commerce Cloud is that ATG's e-commerce platform was never intended for the cloud and has not been completely redesigned since. Oracle never provided a transition to the Headless/REST/API model, closing the ability to interact with other cloud services. According to another source, ATG was "a powerful e-commerce environment that development teams can leverage and expand as needed," and Oracle Commerce Cloud cannot be expanded by customers or a third party.[3]

Larry Ellison decided to raise money in support of Trump. Thousands of Oracle employees protest

In mid-February 2020, co-founder and executive Oracle chairman Larry Ellison decided to raise money in support of the president USA Donald Trump in the 2020 election, but more than 2,300 employees of the company signed a petition against fundraising. More. here

How Oracle sells products that don't exist

In early December 2019, former Oracle cloud project manager Tayo Daramola sued the company, claiming that it sold non-existent or defective products as part of a cloud service designed for universities. Recruitment of about 2 thousand employees to expand the cloud business

On October 8, 2019, Oracle announced the recruitment of about 2,000 specialists for its cloud business. The new personnel initiative is global in nature and is designed to launch the American company's cloud services in countries where they were not previously available. Read more here.

Oracle is closing its flash DSS division. Hundreds of employees laid off

In mid-August 2019, it became known about the dissolution of the Oracle Flash Storage division, which specialized in the development of flash storage systems, including the FS1 solution.

The massive cuts at the conference on August 15 were announced by the head of Oracle Flash Storage, Mike Workman, Oracle employees told The Register. One of them said that the team, also known as Pillar Data, was "quietly" dissolved, and the development of its product was discontinued.

On the TheLayoff.com website, where people anonymously disclose information about layoffs in companies, two publications appeared. One of them says that more than 400 people fell under the reduction, that is, almost all employees of the Oracle Flash Storage division. There are only 12 employees left, the user writes.

File:Aquote1.png
It's sad for Pillar. Personally, I am not rude, since it worked for my family and my personal life, "said another member of the TheLayoff.com, who, according to him, worked at Oracle.

Oracle Flash Storage was based in Broomfield, Colorado, USA. In 2018, the number of personnel there was about 2 thousand people. The foundation of this structure was Pillar Data, which Oracle absorbed in 2011. Prior to that, Larry Ellison invested in Pillar Data.

Oracle is curtailing the development of flash storage and related software as part of a strategy that assumes increased attention to the cloud business, and not the equipment and software that the client installs at home.

Firing hundreds from troubled cloud unit

At the end of May 2019, it became known about the layoffs at Oracle. The cuts could be due to the company's challenges in the cloud computing market. Customers would like to start using clouds, but are afraid to choose a competing product.

According to Business Insider, about 300 employees of the Seattle office, which serves as one of the main centers for cloud product development for Oracle, fell under the reduction. The layoffs were part of a massive personnel purge that affected several thousand workers, including members of cloud teams. Read more here.

HQ layoffs

At the end of March 2019, it became known about the layoffs at Oracle. The company told the California Employment Development Department that it would cut 255 jobs at its head office in Redwood City by May 21. Another 97 people will be laid off in Santa Clara's offices.

This data is disclosed in accordance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), which obliges companies to notify more than 50 people at least three months in advance of dismissal. Oracle itself confirmed to CRN the elimination of working positions, but did not name their number. Deborah Hellinger limited herself to the following comment:

File:Aquote1.png
As our cloud business grows, we will continually balance our resources and restructure our development team to ensure we have the right people offering the best cloud products to our customers around the world.
File:Aquote2.png

In a statement to California's labor regulator, Oracle wrote that the company "overestimates its product accents and competency gaps and for these reasons has decided to lay off some employees in the product development division." Those layoffs are expected to be permanent.[5]

Most of the laid-off employees are programmers. The head of Oracle's partner company, on anonymity, told CRN that the North American division could reduce from 5% to 10% of the state.

At the same time, Oracle is recruiting new workers, including many former Microsoft employees who specialize in customer service and marketing solutions, a partner who also asked to remain anonymous told CRN.

Low salaries force Oracle employees to strike

In July 2018, it became known that employees of the South Korean representative office of Oracle staged a protracted strike in protest against low salaries and inappropriate behavior of executives.

Oracle workers sat outside the company's headquarters in South Korea for 55 days after 19 failed talks with management. Such a long strike of personnel of a foreign IT company has not yet been in the country, notes The Investor.

The union claims that real incomes of Oracle employees are declining, since in 10 years the company has never increased its base salary, and about half of wages are tied to bonuses. In addition, employees complain about sexual harassment by managers and their lies in hiring.

Strike at Oracle. Employees complain of non-rising salaries and sexual harassment

In addition, the dissatisfaction of personnel is due to the dismissal of more than 100 people after Oracle began to shift its focus towards cloud services.

File:Aquote1.png
I have seen a lot of my colleagues find themselves in a position where they have had to unfairly resign from the company. The situation has reached a turning point, "a person working for 10 years at Oracle named Lee told reporters.
File:Aquote2.png

The Oracle Korea division was opened in 1989. By July 2018, it has a staff of 1,200, half of whom are union members.

The list of problems that South Korean Oracle employees are paying public attention to continues to process. Workers are forced to work 80 hours a week, and in some cases more than 110 hours.

File:Aquote1.png
Some believe we don't need a union as they believe we work for one of the world's leading IT companies in high-paying places. This is not the case at all, "said Kim Chul-soo, president of the Oracle union.
File:Aquote2.png

The union was set up in October 2017 amid growing staff dissatisfaction. Until 2017, the only overseas technology company with a union in South Korea remained HP Inc., which created a labor organization from the merger of Fujitsu Korea and Compaq Korea in 2002. In August 2017, a trade union in the country also formed Microsoft.

Oracle workers are demanding that the company reach an agreement with the union as quickly as possible because of the difficult financial situation that the striking employees find themselves in - they are not paid a salary. At the same time, the union cannot directly communicate with South Korean top managers of Oracle, so it makes requests to the corporate headquarters.

Oracle announced its readiness to negotiate with unions to reach an agreement.

In June 2018, Justice Party MP Lee Jung-mi said that Oracle Korea minimizes its responsibilities and seeks to increase profits by abusing loopholes in legislation. The company has repeatedly been convicted of income tax evasion.

According to Li Zhong-mi, after becoming a limited liability company, Oracle Korea was freed from external audits. She does not disclose any administrative information, such as revenue, dividends or donations.

The latest report dates back to 2008, when Oracle Korea transferred about 138 billion won or 48% of total revenue to its parent company in the United States as license payments and some other expenses. Approximately 23 billion won of income was transferred as dividends.

The deputy says that Oracle takes advantage of the lack of any way to confirm excessive expenses and payments in favor of headquarters, but it is known that employees are treated poorly.[6]

Average work experience of employees - 7 years

In April 2018, it became known that at Oracle, known for its rather tough corporate culture, people work for an average of 7 years. One of the most famous bonuses for workers is discounts on everyday purchases (from diapers and food to cell phones, computers and vacation packages), the ability to work remotely and get unlimited time off. Shrinking SPARC and Solaris Developers

Oracle conducted a massive staff reduction in the summer of 2017, affecting mainly developers operating system Solaris and microprocessor architectures, as SPARC well as tape libraries and storage. Judging by the entries on The Layoff message board, a total of about 2.5[7] workers were laid off[8] in[9]

The company itself did not make any statements on this score - the layoffs were reported on the Internet by its employees, who fell under the reduction. In particular, Drew Fisher, senior developer of Python and OpenStack for Solaris, wrote about this on Twitter.

«It's true. Oracle has cut most of Solaris (and others) today, "he said. Fisher himself also lost his job, which he wrote separately: "Oracle gave Dobbie a sock! Dobbie is free! Does anyone want a Python developer with 15 + years of experience

Hiring 5 thousand employees of the cloud division

At the end of August 2017, it became known about a significant increase in the staff of Oracle's cloud division. The company is recruiting to counter Salesforce in a fast-growing market, Bloomberg news agency reported.

Oracle has attracted about 5,000 specialists to work on cloud products and services. This included programmers, consultants, support workers and sales teams.

Oracle recruits 5,000 people for cloud business
File:Aquote1.png
The most important part of Oracle's success is a powerful, inspired and engaged team, "says Oracle Executive Vice President of Personnel Joyce Westerdahl. - We employ experienced sales and development professionals who can contribute to Oracle's cloud business and promote our products. We also attract high-performing college graduates and offer them a world-class training program to prepare their careers in the technology industry.
File:Aquote2.png

In July 2017, the company recruited 1,000 people involved in the IT giant's cloud operations. Then the recruitment was carried out in the countries of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 5 thousand employees whom the company decided to recruit at the end of August belong to the American office.

Oracle did not disclose more details about the recruitment. In particular, it is not known whether the company lures people from competitors.

Oracle reported that since the beginning of 2017, more than 2,650 cloud product sales specialists and 1,500 developers of such solutions have joined the company's staff in the United States.

The Bloomberg publication notes that Oracle began to build up its cloud division after a rival Salesforce.com announced that it had achieved $10 billion in annual revenue from cloud services. Oracle planned to be the first to achieve such an indicator.[10]

Attracting thousands of students to sell cloud products

In mid-August 2017, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published an article saying that Oracle had begun to reap the benefits of a sales reorganization. The company carried out a restructuring as part of a gradual transition to the distribution of software according to the cloud model.

It follows from the publication that in six years Oracle has doubled the staff of sales specialists - to about 35 thousand people. Many of the employees hired went through a new training program that allowed the company to attract startups and small firms as clients, many of whom began using cloud solutions for the first time and chose Oracle products for this.

Oracle has rebuilt sales for the cloud business

Previously, the IT giant focused on large contracts. With the reorganization of the sales model, Oracle began to conclude transactions not only with small companies, but also with divisions of large corporations that decided to gradually switch to cloud services.

File:Aquote1.png
We knew the Chief information officers in the face, but did not know the personnel and marketing executives, "recalls Oracle CEO Mark Hurd about how the business developed before the adoption of a new approach to organizing sales.
File:Aquote2.png

In 2013, Hurd launched a program called Class Of. She envisioned attracting students to practice sales. Previously, Oracle sought to attract experienced employees in this area from other companies.

As a result of the innovations, the corporate software manufacturer created a team of "salesmen" who did not need to pay much to master new markets, including cloud ones. Oracle sales veterans became mentors for newcomers.

Over four years, more than 4,500 people have completed training in the 5-week Class Of program. For 10 years, Hurd said, all sales executives at the company will have such certifications.

Initially, the program was criticized by employees who have long worked at Oracle. They were unhappy that the duties of handlers on recruits distracted from the main work.

File:Aquote1.png
Everyone thought, "What the hell?" I thought it would do more harm than good, "Mike Mansouri, manager of Oracle's California office, who worked in sales for about two years (from 2014 to 2017 at Oracle), told WSJ.
File:Aquote2.png

According to Mansouri, he realized that he was wrong, two years after the launch of Class Of. His charges attracted small clients, and Mansuri received a commission from these transactions. Since the start of the program, its rewards, formed as a share of new orders, have increased by 25%.

File:Aquote1.png
They have such crazy clients that I didn't even know about, "said an Oracle representative.
File:Aquote2.png

Thierry Zerbib, CTO of spending management software developer Telesoft, told WSJ that in 2017 the company decided to switch to a cloud-based software distribution model, but did not consider Oracle as a partner, since Telesoft did not have a very successful experience with IT corporations. As a result, a young Oracle sales specialist "without any pressure" convinced Zerbib to conclude a three-year contract for $500 thousand, the note says.

Mark Hurd communicates with employees

According to analysts cited by the newspaper, making deals with small customers is not enough for the cloud market. Companies using Oracle database management systems (DMS) often do not install them on their computers, but use the computing power and storage of Amazon and other large cloud providers. Such companies may eventually lure Oracle customers away.

This threat, which Stifel Nicolaus analyst Brad Reback called "real and long-term," puts pressure on Oracle's sales teams to promote the company's full portfolio of cloud products, as well as DBMS, basic computing and storage services and other applications.

According to analysts' forecasts, the Gartner volume of the global cloud market in 2017 will reach $245.45 billion against $209.1 billion a year earlier.[11]

Oracle will hire a thousand new employees in EMEA countries

In July 2017, Oracle announced the hiring of approximately 1,000 employees at its EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) representative office. The company is expanding its staff to grow its cloud business.

Those 1000 new people who are planned to be hired in EMEA countries will occupy positions related mainly to sales. Recruitment of people will be carried out until the end of 2017. Speaking about the reasons for the increase in headcount, Senior Vice President and Head of Oracle in the UK, Ireland and Israel Dermot O'Kelly (O'Kelly) noted the following:

File:Aquote1.png
With the huge growth in our cloud product portfolio and cloud revenue, and the continued adoption of our clouds, we employ workers across the region.
File:Aquote2.png

Oracle builds staff as cloud business grows

The top manager did not specify how many people are planned to be connected to work in certain countries. The corporation intends to select specialists throughout the EMEA region, after which it will decide where they can be useful. The applicant should initially have the right to work in the country where he gets to, but they promise to help with the costs of moving to Oracle.

Candidates with two to six years of experience in areas such as human resources, marketing, recruitment, finance, supply chain and sales are being sought. An introduction to cloud technology and an interest in technology in general, as well as strong personal motivation, is welcome. The new generation of professionals is more tech-savvy and has a diverse background, O'Kelly noted.

File:Aquote1.png
Different areas of business have their own languages and understanding. We need experienced sellers. We would like to get a comprehensive team in which workers have more knowledge in a certain area than their colleagues. This will facilitate interviews with them, - said the regional leader.
File:Aquote2.png

The increase in staff was announced a few weeks after Oracle reported an increase in quarterly cloud revenue by 58% to $1.4 billion. At the same time, sales of traditional software installed on computers increased by 5%. The public cloud services market size in the Middle East and North Africa is projected to grow by 22.2% in 2017, according to analysts at Gartner.[12]

The average amount of payments in Lithuania is 9900 euros per month

Salaries in the company can be judged by Oracle East Central Europe Ltd. The average amount of payments to its employees in Lithuania in June 2017 amounted to 9900 euros per month[13]. According to this indicator, the company ranks second in the country.

Dismissal of 1,800 employees, including 450 from the Hardware Systems Division

January 22, 2017 it became known about the dismissal of Oracle up to 1800 employees. Among the laid off are about 450 people - employees of the hardware systems division, developers of SPARC processors and the Solaris platform.

The company in its press statement explained its decision by reorienting its business to cloud solutions. Forecasts appeared in the media about the imminent death of SPARC and Solaris Oracle directions [14].

Online publication The Layoff reported a reduction ~ the 200-person division in Burlington USA,. 100 Oracle employees in San Diego, USA, 25 in Austin lost their jobs. India In - 100, China in - 200, in, - Oslo Sweden 100 people.

In addition to technology and software developers, some managers, administrators and technical personnel have been fired. According to a statement from the company sent to the US Department of Wage Development, all dismissed employees will receive full salaries and other payments in 60 days.

Oracle said it is not going to liquidate the Santa Clara division, where large-scale cuts have been made, but only wants to change the focus of this division from traditional hardware to cloud solutions.

At the same time, the media draw conclusions - the days of SPARC processors and Solaris platforms are numbered and confirmation of this is a wave of reductions. ZDnet noted that radical new releases of these products should not be expected, since even in the official plan of the corporation, the generation of the Solaris 12 platform was replaced by the Solaris 11.next version.

The reason for the reorientation of the business to cloud technologies is the increased profitability of this area in comparison with traditional sources of Oracle revenue.

In September-November 2016, revenue from the sale of Oracle licenses ON fell by 20%, revenue from the sale of equipment - by 13%, compared to the same period in 2015. At the same time, revenue from the implementation of solutions of the category (SaaS "software as a service") and (" PaaS platform as a service") increased by 68%.

U.S. Labor Department sues Oracle for racial, gender discrimination

On January 18, 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor sued Oracle, accusing the company of racial and gender discrimination. The manufacturer of corporate software systematically paid higher salaries to white-skinned men compared to the rest of the categories of workers, and also, in violation of the law, favorably treated Asians applying for a particular position.

According to Reuters news agency, the US Department of Labor sent a complaint to an administrative court in Washington. The agency demanded that the American representative office of Oracle stop racial discrimination, given that the company is a large contractor of the federal government and receives hundreds of millions of dollars under government contracts.

Oracle employees

White men at Oracle America headquarters earn more than women and other races even with formal job equality and with equal experience and experience, according to a statement from the Ministry of Labor. In addition, the corporation is more willing to hire developers and technicians from Asians, especially Hindus, to the detriment of job seekers, black, white or Latino.

Oracle spokeswoman Deborah Hellinger called the claims baseless and "politically motivated" because the company makes decisions on salary payments and hiring based on the experience and merit of workers.

File:Aquote1.png
Oracle values minority representation in the workforce and employee engagement. As an employer, the company provides equal opportunities and legal protection for the interests of historically disadvantaged groups, Hellinger said.
File:Aquote2.png

The US Department of Labor says that an investigation related to possible racial and gender discrimination at Oracle began back in 2014, and the company refused to provide information about the policy of forming payments to employees.[15]

2015: Oracle boosts cloud business workforce by 1,000

On March 26, 2015, Oracle announced an increase in personnel involved in the company's cloud business. The staff of the enterprise software manufacturer will be replenished mainly in Asia.

According to ZDNet, citing the head of the South Korean representative office of Oracle Kim Hyoung-lae, the company will hire about 1000 sales specialists in the Asia-Pacific region to help Oracle with the distribution of cloud products.[16]

Oracle boosts cloud business workforce by 1,000

Oracle decided to invest $5 billion in clouds, which opens up new opportunities for markets such as South Korea

In particular, it is planned to recruit 150 employees to the Australian office of Oracle, 300 to the Indian and 100 to the South Korean. The announced increase in staff is part of Oracle's strategy, in which the company shifts its focus towards a cloud model of software distribution instead of the traditional one, when software is installed on client computers.

In calendar year 2015, Oracle predicts revenue from sales of SaaS and PaaS solutions at more than $1 billion. The task is quite feasible, given the dynamic development of the company's cloud business: in the third financial quarter, closed on February 28, 2015, the vendor increased turnover in the SaaS and PaaS markets by 30% (to $372 million), and also attracted 800 and 400 new customers there, respectively.

According to Kim Hyun-lae, Oracle has decided to invest $5 billion in clouds, which opens up new opportunities for markets such as South Korea. In this country, the company's SaaS revenue in the third fiscal quarter increased by 240%. For further business development in the region, Oracle plans to build a new data center there, although, as Kim Hyun-lae said, a final decision on this matter has not yet been made, since more than 20 data centers deployed worldwide allow it to serve all its customers without any problems.

According to the head of the Indian representative office of Oracle Shailender Kumar (Shailender Kumar), the company is the only cloud provider that offers a full set of services, including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Oracle is building a top-notch sales team to help the company's customers get the most out of cloud computing, Kumar added.

2013

Sales managers run from Oracle

Over the past two years (from 2011 to 2013), many sales managers have left the main Oracle team, not satisfied with the strict quotas that were set by the employer after the purchase of Sun Microsystems, [17] reported in July 2013, citing former and current employees of the company.

And although the corporation has already informed investors that the incident has been exhausted, sources of the publication claim that a negative trend continues. Moreover, many of the employees leaving Oracle worked in the company for 10-20 years.

The process of changing and updating personnel is natural for a Oracle-level company, but it seems that the crisis in the sales structure was not in vain for the company: contrary to Wall Street's expectations in fiscal year 2013, the corporation's results were much lower than forecasts, and the fourth quarter, traditionally the strongest, turned out to be generally depressing.

On June 20, 2013, during a conference with Wall Street analysts, Oracle President Mark Hurd said that employee outflows had decreased, and as of June 7 of that year, a sales plan was being implemented in 90% of the corporation's territory, which is an absolute record for Oracle.

However, insider information contradicts the official position. Speaking on condition of anonymity, one sales employee told Business Insider: "Hundreds of people leave the company on a quarterly basis." The team of this employee has about a dozen people, a third of them have already quit or are looking for new jobs.

One former employee of the corporation also said that he sees an outflow among his former colleagues. "Oracle has a completely terrible reputation in technical sales circles," he said. According to managers, one of the stumbling blocks is quotas that force the sale of a certain amount of hardware on a monthly basis. Moreover, they even concern employees specializing in software sales. While in enterprises, different people are often responsible for the purchase of software and equipment, which complicates the task.

Reporting on the third quarter of fiscal 2013, Hurd assured analysts that over the past two years, the corporation has hired 4,000 new sales specialists, however, without naming exactly how many employees of a similar profile left Oracle in an equal period of time.

Also in June 2013 , Larry Ellison, head of Oracle, assured financial analysts that one of the company's tactics is to hire young professionals immediately after college. In 2013 alone, about 500 people were employed in the sales area. At the same time, Oracle technology products are quite complex, and in order to sell them, an employee must have a very high competence in this area.

120 thousand employees

As of 2013, the company employs more than 120 thousand people, of which 35 thousand are developers, 18 thousand are support specialists and the same number of expert consultants.
