The state allocates another 5 billion rubles for the repair of rural branches

On October 19, 2022, it became known that the Russian Post was allocating another 5 billion rubles from the state budget. This should help the company fulfill the president's order to repair rural branches.

According to Vedomosti, the total amount aimed at modernizing the branches of the Russian Post from 2021 to 2024 inclusive will amount to 20 billion rubles.

The head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadayev, during a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy in October 2022, said that Russian Post could receive about 10 billion rubles in 2023 to modernize its branches.

In August 2022, the president Russia Vladimir Putin instructed the government and specifically the Ministry of Finance to consider and provide funding to continue the post office modernization program in rural areas. In 2022, the Government of the Russian Federation published a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the allocation of Ministry of Digital Development 5 billion rubles for "bringing into a normative state" more than 800 branches of the Russian Post in villages and hard-to-reach places.

The work must be completed by the end of 2023. The Ministry of Digital Development should monitor the targeted and effective use of budgetary allocations with the submission of reports to the government until August 1, 2023 and until March 30, 2024.

As of July 2022, Russian Post has already begun modernizing 97% of branches out of those planned for 2022. Where repairs cannot be carried out, pre-fabricated structures will appear.

Also, in modernized departments, self-monitoring health centers are organized with the presence of tonometers, pulse oximeters, contactless thermometers for citizens to independently measure vital signs of the body. In addition, access to socially significant resources is provided and negotiations have been held with the regional MPSC of 40 constituent entities of the Russian Federation to organize the reception of citizens.

United Russia made a proposal to reconstruct the postal network in rural areas and expand the functionality of the Russian Post. The initiative was supported by President Vladimir Putin and instructed the Cabinet to ensure modernization in 2022-2025. more than 25,000 post offices in rural areas. As a result, a program was formed, the implementation of which is under the control of United Russia.

Not only federal money has been allocated for the program. Russian Post sends additional funds from its own income, regional additional financing is also provided. Investments in the opening of branches will exceed 470 million rubles.

The Post Office will renovate more than 1,000 branches by the end of 2021. Of these, more than 400 OPSs are adapted for people with limited mobility and people with disabilities: they will have specially equipped entrances, ramps with handrails, awnings, lifting platforms or elevators, tactile navigation, special furniture and other elements of an accessible environment.

Plan to complete repairs to more than 3,000 branches across the country

Since the building is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance, all work on this object is carried out only by agreement and after obtaining permission from the Department of Cultural Heritage of the city of Moscow. Launch of drug sales in three branches of the Samara region

On December 4, 2019, Russian Post announced the launch of a pilot project for the sale of medicines in post offices. Pharmacies are open on the basis of three post offices of the Samara region.

According to the Russian Post on June 27, 2019, in 2019, retail sales in an updated format will appear on the basis of post offices in 61 regions of Russia. As of June, more than 200 points have been opened.

On April 10, 2019, the Russian Post announced that, together with Fix Price, they plan to launch test points for the retail sale of retailer goods in post offices. Commodity nomenclature will include non-food categories, including office, clothing, household chemicals and household items.

Taking into account the wide geography of the presence, effective retail on the basis of post offices will provide residents of rural and remote settlements with high-quality and affordable goods, which, as a rule, can be purchased only in cities. In a number of settlements, the post office is the only platform for providing the population with socially significant goods.
