2025: Conclusion of the apatite field development agreement for ₽63 billion
Apatitagro, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia signed a trilateral agreement on the construction of a mine and an enrichment plant at the Oshurkovsky apatite ore deposit in the Ivolginsky district with a total investment of ₽63 billion. The project provides for the creation of 600 new jobs and tax deductions in the amount of about ₽50 billion to budgets of various levels. The document was signed by the head of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov, the general director of the KRDV Nikolai Zapryagaev and the general director of Apatitagro Alexander Baranov on September 5, 2025.
According to TASS, the signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov and Vice President, State Secretary of the Russian Copper Company Vsevolod Vukolov, representing the project investor. The agreement defines the parameters for the implementation of a large mining project in the republic.
The planned processing plant will have a design capacity of 14 million tons of ore per year. The main product of the enterprise will be apatite concentrate, intended for the production of mineral fertilizers. Such volumes of processing will create one of the largest enterprises for the extraction of apatite ores in the region.
The project includes several stages: geological study of the field, preparation of a feasibility study and passage of state environmental expertise. The company has already received a license for the use of subsoil and is preparing to start geological exploration to confirm the reserves of useful resources. minerals
With the successful confirmation of reserves, the operation of the mine is planned to be launched in 2030. The five-year preparation period will allow all necessary studies, obtaining permits and building the production infrastructure of the field.[1]
