Arbuz Group is a Kazakh company developing the online supermarket Arbuz.kz, which was launched in 2011. It operates on a supermarket model with food, drink, household chemicals and home goods deliveries. The company has its own warehouses, assembly line and courier service. By June 21, 2023, more than 205 thousand customers made purchases at the site. On average, 2500-3000 orders are delivered per day.

2023: Freedom Holding bought Arbuz Group

On June 21, 2023, Freedom Holding announced the purchase of 81.92% of Arbuz Group from a group of private investors. The company did not disclose the value of the transaction.

After the completion of the transaction, the entrepreneur remains 18% in the company.

Freedom Holding Says It's Buying 81.92% of Arbuz Group

According to Turlov, the trends in the development of the sector in the world and Kazakhstan in particular indicate that e-grocery may well claim to be a driver of the development of online sales in general. The integration of Freedom Bank and Arbuz will provide the potential to continuously improve the service, develop profitable bonus programs that meet the needs of Freedom customers. In turn, this will allow the holding to expand the audience for the consumption of services of both companies and the entire Kazakhstan ecosystem Freedom and strengthen the position of the financial group, the head of Freedom Holding believes.[1]
