After approval of the procedure by the relevant antimonopoly authorities purchase of the company became a part of implementation of a market strategy in the field of cloud computing in the corporate sector.

July 19, 2018 The international telecommunication Orange group announced acquisition of 100% of the capital of Basefarm company at Abry Partners Private equity fund. The transaction, worth 350 million euros, was carried out through child division of Orange Business Services.

Orange purchased cloud provider of Basefarm

As explain in Orange, Basefarm purchase which took place after recent merger of the international system integrator Business & Decision is an important step to the development strategies Orange Business Services. Now in its state there are about 1600 experts in the field of cloud computing, and the annual gain in this sector makes 15-20% in global market.

The transaction will expand a portfolio of proposed solutions and will strengthen a strategic position of Orange in such areas as data management, critical applications, multicloud services and analytics of Big Data. Besides, acquisition of Basefarm will increase a geographical coverage of service. In turn, Basefarm will be able to accelerate growth in the sector of service of public and private clouds and also will get access to global networks and infrastructure of Orange.

According to the CEO of Orange Business Services Helmut Rayzinger, acquisition of Basefarm is a large milestone in development of the company in international market. This transaction not only will provide access to public or private cloud infrastructure, but also will give to the company the chance to offer clients the advanced automated services, irrespective of their location.

Closing of the transaction is expected in the third quarter 2018 on condition of the got approval of the relevant antimonopoly authorities.
