The SecureData company founded in 1992 specializes in rendering services in information security field. Specialists of SecureData estimate cyberrisks at specific clients, reveal threats before they have a business impact, implement and configure cyber defense and also eliminate effects of the successful hacker attacks.

By the beginning of February, 2019 in the company more than 200 people at the British and South African offices work. 50 employees in SecureData call "high quality" researchers and testers in the field of security.

History

2019: Orange Business Services purchased SecureData

On February 1, 2019 Orange announced purchase of SecureData from company management and a private equity fund of August Equity. As a result of the transaction which cost was decided not to be disclosed the sold company will closely interact with Orange Business Services for providing cybersecurity services to an expanded circle of clients.

SecureData along with the department of testings and consulting of SensePost will join division of cyber security of Orange Business Services — Orange Cyberdefense.

Orange Business Services purchased the supplier of cybersecurity services

This transaction in Orange was characterized as "one more step on the way of strengthening of the leading positions of the company in the European market of cyber security". Orange called SecureData the independent service provider of cyber security, largest in Britain.

According to the executive chairman of the board of directors of SecureData Ian Brown, negotiations with Orange were conducted several months, and the longer they lasted, the better realized the companies that they have "identical aspirations and the purposes".

In the press release it is noted that merger of SecureData considerably will expand business of Orange Cyberdefense thanks to expansion in Britain — in the largest Western European market of cybersecurity services. Besides, the company will be able to increase activity on the African continent.[1]
