2018

Opening of the center of security in Morocco

On November 29, 2018 the Orange Cyberdefense company announced opening in Morocco of the center of security designed to expand the international presence of the company.

Africa actively invests means in cyber security — according to forecasts of experts, by 2020 this market will grow by 74%, from $1.33 billion in 2017 to $2.32 billion in 2020.

It is planned that the Orange Cyberdefense center in Casablanca will attract the best local gurus and will cooperate with the French competence center of Orange in the field of cyber security. The purpose — to create by 2020 in Morocco staff of about fifty employees. To accelerate development, the center will train young specialists in cyber security within affiliate programs with the leading engineering universities of France.

Proposed solutions will be similar that they are already provided in France: from consulting services and testing for penetration of threats before protection and observation by specialists of the center of ensuring cyber security (CyberSOC) and a command of emergency response in the field of a computer security (CERT). Experts in Morocco will get access to the best practices and methodology of Orange Cyberdefense and will closely cooperate with the Moroccan division of Orange.

The newly opened operational center will allow us to take strong position in the Moroccan market and will make Orange Cyberdefense in Morocco the central organization providing customer needs in the French-speaking countries of Africa where there is already Orange Group. Cooperation with CERT NZ

The international service provider Orange Business Services announced on May 29, 2018 the beginning of cooperation with the New Zealand government division on cyber security of CERT NZ during which the companies will begin exchange of intelligence information for fight against information threats.

For cooperation in the field of investigation of cyberthreats of CERT NZ selected Orange Cyberdefense, division of Orange group which specializes in ensuring cyber security. It is planned that joint work of the parties will be carried out on the following algorithm: after Orange provides data on potential vulnerabilities, specialists of CERT NZ will analyze them together with information from other sources and will provide to service provider a full-scale picture of the arising cyberthreats for its further use in own purposes and tools of the analysis.
