Solutions of the company fix duration and sleep quality, heartbeat, breath, temperature, movements sleeping, snore, temperature and humidity in the room. From the moment of the foundation in 2007 till May, 2017 Beddit attracted in total $3.5 million investments.
2017: Apple buys Beddit
On May 10, 2017 it became known of sale of Beddit of the American corporation Apple. Developments of the sold company can find application in the Apple Watch smartwatch.
The Finnish startup announced that Beddit carries over Apple on the official site. Financial side and other terms of agreement do not reveal. It is noted only that after closing of the transaction personal data of users of Beddit devices will be collected and used according to rules of Apple. Products of Beddit appeared in Apple Store shops in 2015.
Tracking of a dream — one of the functions implemented in Apple Watch. Purchase of Beddit specifies that Apple intends and to continue development of this direction. After release of Apple Watch users addressed third-party applications for monitoring of sleep quality.
The release of the new version of the operating system for Apple Watch — watchOS 4 — is expected at the end of 2017. Possibly, the built-in function of tracking of a dream will be to some extent integrated into this version.
As for the Beddit 3 Sleep Monitor devices offered Beddit, most likely, Apple will refuse their further sale to stimulate interested persons to purchase Apple Watch. Beddit 3 represents a strip with sensors which is located in the user's bed.[1]
