History
2026: Opening of a radiological center in St. Petersburg for 2.5 billion rubles
In January 2026, the construction of two new medical buildings was completed in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg on the territory of the city hospital No. 40. The main object was a radiological center for the treatment of cancer. Its construction was implemented on the basis of a tender announced by the Committee on State Order of St. Petersburg on August 22, 2023. The initial contract price amounted to 2.479 billion rubles.
According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the work was carried out within the framework of the Targeted Investment Program of the city. The most costly item of contract expenses (1.9 billion rubles) was the installation of technological equipment. The radiology center has a Discovery RT computed tomograph capable of conducting up to 35 diagnostic tests a day. The building also houses two treatment rooms equipped with linear accelerators for radiation therapy.
In addition, the construction of a laboratory of cellular technologies on Borisov Street has been completed. The warehouse on the embankment of the Sestra River has been repaired for medical needs. According to the press service of the city administration, the surrounding area has also been landscaped and landscaped, new parking spaces have been organized.
