Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve
Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve - a museum complex dedicated to the history of Derbent, an ancient city in Russia. The territory of the museum-reserve, together with the conservation zones for April 2021, is 2044 hectares, more than 250 monuments of history and culture are concentrated on it. On the territory of the museum complex there are 25 monuments of federal significance, including the Naryn-Kala citadel, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2003.
In February 2014, the citadel and the historical city in the fortress walls of Derbent were included in the register of cultural heritage objects of federal significance. On August 13, 2020, by a decree of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan, the museum was renamed the GBU RD "Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve."
