The main product Displair is the display which is not requiring the screen, and projecting the image "on air" (on a turbulent flow of solid particles of water up to 2 microns in size). Properties of the screen allow to fix up to 1500 simultaneous contacts of the projected image. Contacts to the "air" display and movements of hands of the operator are read out by a set of the infrared and optical accepting devices which are capable to distinguish angular and linear movements and their speed with a delay no more than 0.2 pages. Need of their filling with liquid remains a basic lack of technology of all "water" displays. Displair spends 1.5 liters of water per hour.
The Astrakhan developers Displair in 2012-2013 received as investments about $3.5 million from Leta Capital, Venture Angels, Ester Dyson and some other private investors. The head of Leta Capital Alexander Chachava told CNews that from them about $3 million fall to the share of its investment company.
The interactive screenless Displair I display is the computer device of new generation which outputs the image directly in air and allows to manage content using fingers, as on traditional "tablets". Before entry into the market Displair had a stage in half a year when specialists rolled technology, collected opinion of clients, leasing to the interested companies semi-industrial samples.[1]
Displair - the only screenless display which is not existing in the world. Its analogs are made by the Finnish FogScreen and the American Heliodisplay. However founders of Displair note that their development represents the only air display in the world supporting Multi-Touch technology.
All famous competitors of Displair use a streamline flow of water drops ("the foggy screen") as the image medium that not well affects integrity of the picture in attempt of contact with a foreign subject, for example, a finger.
Unlike them Displair projects the image on a turbulent flow of solid particles of water up to 2 microns in size whose properties allow to fix up to 1500 simultaneous contacts. At the same time resistance to a heat and a frost is inherent to firm microparticles of Displair: they do not evaporate and do not freeze.
Contacts to the "air" display and movements of hands of the operator are read out by a set of the infrared and optical accepting devices which are capable to distinguish angular and linear movements and their speed with a delay no more than 0.2 pages. Displair developers say that a system is capable to distinguish more difficult gestures, than those that offer multi - touch - the systems of the existing interactive screens.
Need of their filling with liquid remains a basic lack of technology of all "water" displays. Displair spends 1.5 liters of water per hour.
Offers future buyers of Displair two options of prepayment: with payment of 50% of cost and receiving devices in October, 2013 (and also a bonus application package for $2000), and prepayment-based $ in 1 thousand with waiting of delivery in December, 2013.
2014: Creators of the unique screenless display from Russia refuse production and lay off developers
Displair startup well-known for the development of the screenless interactive display announced in January, 2014 new strategy within which the department of development of the company will be defunct, and the startup will refuse production of the devices. Licensing of screenless displays to producers will become the new strategy of Displair. The list of the producers who already signed license agreements, or entered negotiation process with Displair is not opened[2].
