2025: Launch of microprocessor-controlled prosthesis manufacturing center

In early June 2025, it became known that a united prosthetic and rehabilitation center was opened in the Moscow Region, where CITO specialists will manufacture up to 500 modern prostheses per year, including microprocessor-controlled models. The center was created on the basis of the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology of the FMBA of Russia in the village of Goluboe.

The new enterprise was the result of the joint work of the Rostec state corporation and the FMBA of Russia with the support of the Defenders of the Fatherland state fund. According to the press service of Rostec, the center works on the principle of a "single window," where all assistance is concentrated in one medical institution - from high-precision prosthetics to full-fledged physical, social and psychological adaptation.

A center for the production of prostheses with microprocessor control has been launched in the Moscow region

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the FMBA of Russia Veronika Skvortsova, the general director of the Rostec state corporation Sergei Chemezov and the general director of CITO Viktor Spector. The CITO branch is open on the basis of the FMBA medical and rehabilitation center, one of the leading medical institutions in the country with more than half a century of history.

The production facilities of the center allow the production of various types of prosthetic products. Microprocessor prostheses adapt to different speeds of movement, allow you to confidently overcome obstacles and stay on your feet for a long time. Such devices provide the possibility of maintaining an active lifestyle.

A rehabilitation department with 21 beds has been opened in the new center and the production of full-cycle prostheses has been launched. Simulators and special equipment help patients train endurance and coordination of movements.

The head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova noted that this is the first such center in Russia to create a reference model for comprehensive rehabilitation. According to her, such a complex not only accelerates the restoration of impaired motor functions, but also changes the personal mood of each patient, increases life tone, reduces the level of psycho-emotional tension.[1]
