2023: Construction of the medical center
On November 10, 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin announced the early completion of the first stage of the construction of a multidisciplinary medical center FMBA in Mariupol. In his Telegram channel, the Deputy Prime Minister wrote the following:
We stopped by to inspect a completely finished facility - the complex of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia - is a world-class hospital, without exaggeration, and one of the largest healthcare facilities in new regions with an area of more than 33 thousand square meters. |
According to Khusnullin, 13 different departments and over 1.2 thousand medical workers will work in the medical center. The institution is designed to serve 52 thousand patients annually.
The project is being implemented in two stages. At the first they erected:
- a four-story medical and diagnostic building (30,975 m2) with an ambulance unit, operating, intensive care units, as well as a hospital with 60 beds;
- two-story morphological building with laboratories (1300 m2);
- one-storey laundry (1000 m2);
- transformer substation;
- oxygen-gasification station;
- sewer station;
- boiler house.
At the second stage of construction, the multidisciplinary medical center of the FMBA will grow with a hospital building with 333 beds (26,750 m2). All buildings will be connected to each other by covered warm transitions for patients and staff. In addition, local treatment facilities, parking and a helipad will be built on the territory of the medical complex.
It is noted that the medical complex is equipped according to modern standards. It will have single and double wards with the necessary medical equipment and bathrooms. Departments will be equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technique. Here it will be possible to provide emergency specialized medical care to victims and patients in the event of accidents and disasters. The hospital will be able to receive the wounded, who will be delivered by air.[1]
