History

2017: G-Core Labs buys SkyparkCDN

On June 3, 2017, G-Core Labs announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the Russian company SkyparkCDN, specializing in technologies to accelerate web resources and protect business from DDoS attacks. More details here.

In connection with this transaction, the name of the company was changed from Skypark SDN LLC to G-Core Rus LLC.

2016

SkyparkCDN supports SSL client certificates for free

SkyparkCDN The first in the Russian market of content delivery networks announced the free integration of SSL certificates of customers. Previously, such a service was provided only on a paid basis.

The decision was made in response to the global trend towards the transition to HTTPS, which is becoming more urgent. The company provides the ability to deliver content using HTTPS from the very ground, but until June 2016 it was available for free only to customers using shared SSL certificate SkyparkCDN.

SkyparkCDN enhanced source protection against overloads

Protection of the source server from high loads has become available to customers of the Russian CDN operator SkyparkCDN with the advent of a new service - the precesh system. It reduces the number of requests to the source, providing fault tolerance and reducing load. When using a prekesh, the source receives units of requests instead of tens and hundreds. The system works as follows: when new content appears, the first CDN server accesses the prekesh, which in turn transmits the request to the source. All subsequent requests for the same content from any CDN server will be processed not by the source, but by the precesh.

Servers SkyparkCDN installed in Omsk and Alma-Ata

Since the beginning of 2016, two new points of presence have appeared on the company's map - servers in Omsk and Alma-Ata. Own SkyparkCDN nodes in these cities will speed up the download of the company's client sites. The increase in speed is achieved due to the transfer of load from the main server to the geodistributed content delivery network (CDN).

The city of republican significance Alma-Ata became the second point of presence of SkyparkCDN in Kazakhstan. The first server was installed about a year and a half ago in Astana. As for Russia, more than ten data centers operate here, the list is regularly replenished. As of April 2016, the SkyparkCDN network has more than 100 locations around the world, including a partner network.

Several thousand Russian sites switched to servers with SSD

The Russian CDN operator SkyparkCDN transferred servers to SSD in early 2016. Thus, the speed of reading data that is stored in the SkyparkCDN cloud has more than tripled. Among the customers of the company who received an accelerated download of the site are the Arzamas educational project, the online home appliances store e96.ru, the InSales platform, which employs more than 6,000 online stores.

"A file that is rarely requested is eventually displaced from the hot cache, and a copy of it remains in the storage of the caching server. SSD provides reading of such data at speeds comparable to RAM, that is, eliminates delays associated with slow storage, "explained Ugay Dmitry, CEO SkyparkCDN. - After installing SSD, the speed of sequential reading of data increased threefold: from 150-160 Mb/s to 500-520 Mb/s, and when reading data in small blocks - up to several tens of times. "

The speed of disk storage is especially important for resources using large databases. Such resources include, for example, online stores, which in Russia make up a significant share of customers of content delivery networks (CDN).

2015

For 2015, the company was SkyparkCDN part of the holding. inMedia This IT is the one startup that created the CDN network Russia in and, CIS entering the top three specialized CDN operators in Russia.

SkyparkCDN was the first in Russia to launch HTTP/2 support

SkyparkCDN The first among Russian CDN operators launched HTTP/2 support in December 2015. This protocol increases the efficiency of using network resources, due to which the speed of downloading sites using the content delivery network SkyparkCDN increases.

For the end user, support for the new protocol improves page loading speed. This happens at the expense of

  • Fewer network requests
  • simultaneously operating a plurality of parallel threads;
  • appearance of download priorities.

Many of the world's largest Internet companies have already translated their web services to HTTP/2. The first were Twitter, Mozilla, Google, Facebook and others.

HTTP/2 - a binary protocol launched in February 2015 - became a logical continuation of HTTP/1.1. It differs from previous versions in the ability to compress headers, prioritize requests, and multiplex content within a connection.

The SkyparkCDN server is installed in Baku

On June 16, 2015, SkyparkCDN announced the launch of a CDN server   in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku.

Now, companies focused on the audience of this country will have more opportunities to work and attract new users: the installed CDN server provides a high-quality and stable solution to improve the delivery of content to the end user. This leads to a decrease in loads on company servers, a decrease in the time for downloading the site for users from remote regions, and will qualitatively affect sales indicators and the overall mood of consumers.

"We consider it our task to help business development, to create affordable and easy-to-use products, " explains Dmitry Ugay, CEO. SkyparkCDN  "We are confident that this will help us and our customers develop and achieve better results."

SkyparkCDN  commissioned servers in Russia and Lithuania

On April 29, 2015, SkyparkCDN announced an ongoing expansion: in April 2015, the company completed testing and commissioned two video stream generation servers - in Samara and Vilnius (Lithuania).

A video streaming server was launched in Lithuania, providing high speed and quality of video content delivery. Fast video downloads eliminate buffering, which ultimately leads to an increase in the number of views and an increase in the audience of the resource.

"We are interested in SkyparkCDN that clients of the company provided high-quality services, developed and achieved the best results, - Dmitry Ugay, the CEO of SkyparkCDN emphasized. "Therefore, we are constantly improving our technologies, expanding the number of points of presence and the width of channels, monitoring, analyzing the quality of content delivery and statistics on the number of views in all regions."

Network coverage SkyparkCDN 109 cities in 41 countries

As of February 2015, the SkyparkCDN server network unites 109 cities in 41 countries of the world - Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia.

CDN is a geographically distributed network infrastructure that allows you to optimize the delivery and distribution of content to end users on the Internet. The introduction of CDN is especially relevant for sites with high attendance, "heavy" content and an audience scattered throughout a vast area.
