Gliimpse — the service of storage of medical records founded in 2013. With its help users can load own medical data, documents and photos into special storage and also to send this information to other people or the attending physician. For consumers the Gliimpse service is free, and developers receive money from suppliers of medical services and software developers who use possibilities of service. As of August, 2016 Gliimpse works more than from 5 thousand drugstores, laboratories and hospitals. For preserving of confidentiality of data 256-bit enciphering is used.

2016: Apple buys Gliimpse

On August 22, 2016 it became known of Gliimpse sale to the American producer of consumer electronics of Apple. At the expense of this transaction the buyer will be able to expand the medical business.

Apple purchased service of storage of medical data Gliimpse

Announced the first the Fast Company edition that Apple purchased Gliimpse. Afterwards Apple confirmed acquisition, but refrained from any informative comments. The corporation only declared the following (the quote by The Wall Street Journal):

It is supposed that Gliimpse will be integrated with an application package for care of health of HealthKit Apple, and the corporate Health application installed in the Apple iOS operating system is waited by cardinal changes.

On August 22, 2016 the TechCrunch edition noted that in recent years Apple actively works on the products helping people to care for their health. Earlier it was reported that the company conducts development of the new device intended for tracking of different biometric indicators of the owner. Development is completely independent and has no relation to the Apple Watch smartwatch.[1]
