2019: Creation of a company
In September 2019, the Russian representative office of Hyundai announced the creation of Hyundai Mobility Lab and its placement in the Skolkovo innovation center.
The founders of Hyundai Mobility Lab were Hyundai Motor CIS and the Russian Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant. Alexey Kalitsev, who is also the managing director of Hyundai Motor CIS, became the general director of Hyundai Mobility Lab.
Hyundai Mobility Lab is engaged in the development and commercialization of services based on the IT platform, innovation in the field of Connected Car and unmanned driving.
In particular, the startup will focus on creating and implementing an application with which the client will be able to subscribe and remotely rent a Hyundai car and receive "a set of additional services aimed at creating high-quality and comfortable conditions."
At the initial stage, 12 Moscow Hyundai dealers will participate in the project. In the future, it is planned to provide Hyundai Mobility services within the entire dealer network of the company in Russia.
In the near future, we expect major changes in the automotive industry, ranging from the perception of the car itself to the revenue structure of the dealer network. It is new services and services that will be in great demand, "says Alexei Kalitsev. - Given the latest trends, the launch of a unique online application for subscriptions to Hyundai Mobility cars, scheduled for October, will open a fundamentally new approach to the use of cars for Russian customers. |
According to Hyundai Motor CIS, the status of Skolkovo resident provides Hyundai Mobility Lab with such advantages as a unified information environment with other start-up companies, business development services and much more.
By September 2019, the new company has seven developers.[1]
