History
2024: Change of registration from Cypriot to Russian
The mining company Intergeo changed its registration from Cypriot to Russian. This became known on January 19, 2024.
According to Interfax, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL), Intergeo Intergeo MMC Ltd holding company was redomitated in a special administrative district (SAR) on Russky Island. The authorized capital of MKOOO Intergeo MMSI Ltd is about 10.25 billion rubles.
The agency recalls that Intergeo MMSI Ltd controls Intergeo Management Company, which was created by Onexim to manage geological exploration licenses for a number of promising areas. Their group of Mikhail Prokhorov received as part of the division of assets with Interros Vladimir Potanin.
Subsequently, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), together with partners (the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund and one of the Middle East sovereign wealth funds), acquired 9.5% in Intergeo in order to accelerate the implementation of projects of this company and ensure the attraction of loans.
By January 2024, Intergeo is preparing to develop the Ak-Sug copper-porphyry deposit located in Tuva (established resources of more than 4.9 million tons of copper) and the large Kingash nickel-sulfide deposit, also located in the southern part of Siberia.
GOC at Ak-Sug with a capacity of 24 million tons of ore per year is planned to be commissioned in 2024, the production of copper-molybdenum concentrate will begin in 2026. The average annual production volume can be 500 thousand tons of concentrate. More than 600 thousand tons of copper-nickel concentrate are planned to be produced at the Kingash Group fields from 2028.[1]
2014
As of April 2014, the two largest Intergeo projects are the Ak-Sug copper deposit and the Kingash nickel deposit. In 2010, Intergeo Management Company bought 100% of the Kingash Mining Company from MMC Norilsk Nickel.
On the basis of the Kingash deposit, Intergeo planned to annually produce 60-70 thousand tons of nickel, 25-30 thousand tons of copper, 10-15 tons of platinum and gold. For the development of the Kingashskoye field, Intergeo planned to build a mining complex in the Sayansky district and a nickel plant in Zelenogorsk.
However, then there were rumors on the market that Kingash could be sold to Musa Bazhaev's Russian Platinum, who had previously acquired a license from Intergeo for the Montenegrin polymetallic deposit in Taimyr. As of April 2014, in fact, Intergeo is not developing.
