Resident "Skolkovo" attracted more than 130 million rubles for the development of the AI system for medicine

The Russian system of predictive analytics and risk management of patients Webiomed allows you to automatically analyze various medical data, identify risk factors and suspicions of diseases, form forecasts based on them, containing a comprehensive assessment of the likelihood of the development of various diseases and the patient's death from them.

The system offers personal recommendations for the doctor and the patient on the tactics of examination and preventive treatment. The work of the system is based on its own integrated methodology for determining the risks of the development of diseases and their complications, including the use of various models based on, machine learning analysis medical data by natural language processing methods NLP () and auxiliary algorithms based on clinical recommendations. A lot is said about the importance of disease prevention. But despite the impressive examples and prospects of this approach, in practice all this is in its infancy. Doctors are overwhelmed at appointments, there is too much patient data, and there is too little time to analyze them. As a result, doctors very rarely really analyze the available medical information about the patient and determine his risk of developing certain diseases. Our system allows you to shift this task to the shoulders of artificial intelligence and give all medicine and, ultimately, patients an effective digital assistant to prevent possible diseases - said Alexander Gusev, co-founder of the Webiomed project.

In 2019, our main task was to develop the first version of the system and implement pilot projects. In practice, we were convinced that forecasting analytics is an unconditional trend in digital health care of the future. When it became clear to us that the project could "shoot," they began to carry out systematic work to find mentors and investors who would help us in development. And we can say that the investment transaction has been completed, and we are starting to implement our business strategy - said Roman Novitsky, CEO of K-Sky.

The company conducts systematic work on the development of the project, has a strong scientific component, is a member of Skolkovo, behind the founders experience in the field of digital health care. All these factors led to the fact that of the many projects for investment, we chose the Webiomed project. We believe that it has prospects not only from a financial point of view, but also very important for maintaining people's health - commented Spartak Zabolotsky, investor in the Webiomed project.

The clinical trials passed, the first medical product registration certificate in Russia for medical software with artificial intelligence, pilot implementations of technology on the Russian market, scientific publications of the team, current solutions for COVID-19, the status of a participant in the Skolkovo Foundation - all this confirmed the position of the K-Sky team and provided an opportunity to attract serious investments in the project. We are proud of the success of our resident and are glad that the Skolkovo Foundation helped the project, provided financial and mentoring support at such an important moment in the development of the company. It is also worth noting that the Competence Center for Regulatory Regulation of the Digital Economy of the Skolkovo Foundation, together with the K-Sky team, is participating in the work of the Roszdravnadzor working group on the formation of proposals for regulating medical software, including support systems for medical decisions using artificial intelligence - Kirill Kai, Senior Vice President for Innovation of the Skolkovo Foundation.

We are very pleased that the Webiomed team managed to attract a full round of investments. Before the transaction and throughout it, we worked with the project as part of the investment mentorship: we helped in preparing the investment presentation, advised the company how to structure the transaction more correctly and build a negotiation process with investors at an early stage. In addition, Skolkovo Ventures helped as part of the deal to formulate conditions for business angels that allow them to use the tax subsidy program. This program is very popular among startups and investors, and we are pleased to see that Webiomed has become a member of it - Stanislav Kolesnichenko, Managing Director of Skolkovo Ventures.
