2023: Space Communications Center Expansion Plan

The Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev governor announced plans to expand space communications the Khabarovsk Center, which is one of five in, Russia as well as a teleport in the Far East. According to the head of the region, it is planned to increase the capacity of the Khabarovsk branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Space Communications" due to the management structure of two groups - satellites "" and Messenger"." Marathon It is expected that it will appear on the territory of the enterprise in the next two years. Roscosmos announced this on December 6, 2023.

As Degtyarev recalled, the Khabarovsk Space Communications Center is an enterprise "with history." It is from him that several Express satellites are controlled, as well as some remote settlements of the Khabarovsk Territory are provided with the Internet and communication within the framework of the federal project "Eliminating digital inequality."

On December 5, 2023, the head of the region examined the Khabarovsk Space Communications Center, in particular its hardware control and control. When visiting the site, he paid special attention to import substitution and the use of domestic equipment, noting that antennas are mounted entirely from Russian components on the territory of the enterprise.

However, the central place in the interaction of the regional government and the state-owned company is still occupied by the issue of providing remote and inaccessible territories with high-quality communication. Degtyarev said that soon high-speed Internet and communications will appear in three northern regions: Okhotsk, Ayano-May and Tuguro-Chumikansky. Funds for these purposes have been allocated from the regional budget, and the work itself will begin in 2024.

This is a good alternative, a temporary measure that will provide people with a quality service for years to come. Fiber is a long-term prospect, we are working in this direction. But people need communication today, - stated the governor.

In addition, the parties agreed to equip the fleet of the Khabarovsk machine and tractor station with special modules based on the domestic satellite navigation system GLONASS"" for high-precision positioning. This will make it possible to determine the land area, the location of equipment and the work front with a minimum error.

In early October, it became known that the Russian enterprise "Information Satellite Systems" named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev plans to create 377 communication and navigation satellites in the next six years - from 2024 to 2030. The largest group will be Marathon, which is being created as part of the Sphere federal project. In total, JSC Reshetnev plans to create 271 devices of this series. In addition, the company will produce 12 satellites of the Skif constellation, 34 Gonets-M1 devices, 19 Glonass satellites and 18 export and civilian spacecraft.
