Ex-Minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov got rid of his stake in the international cloud gaming service
As TAdviser found out in July 2023, Diginavis, owned by ex-Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, sold its stake in the Irish-based cloud gaming service Loudplay Global.
According to a representative of the Russian LLC LP Technologies, the founder of which is the Irish Loudplay Global Limited, the share of Diginavis was sold to the only and main owner of Loudplay Global, a European company whose name was not disclosed.
In addition, according to the representative of "LP Technology," Loudplay Global is getting rid of its Russian "daughter": as of July 2023, the sale process is underway. Due to the peculiarities of the legislation, this is not a quick process, says the interlocutor of TAdviser. The new owners of "LP technology" are the top management of the company, an individual.
"LP Technology" has legally existed, as has Irish company Loudplay, since May 2018. It provides services on the Russian market, the Irish Loudplay operates on the international market.
Initially, the 100% founder of LP Technology, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, was Sergey Panferov. In 2019, 9.09% of the company's authorized capital was transferred to the Irish Loudplay Global Limited, and since March 2020, the Russian company has been 100% owned by the latter.
In the year of its foundation, LP Technologies LLC became a resident. Skolkovo The Skolkovo website states that Loudplay is developing a loudplay.io platform that allows you to run various cloud services for working with resource-intensive applications: cloud gaming; a virtual PC for working with professional graphics; platform for working with interactive content on smartphones, VR devices, Smart TV); service to increase the efficiency of content promotion (games and mobile applications). On the basis of the platform, the product "gaming desktop" was launched, the company began to cooperate with operators "" and MegaFon MTS on cloud gaming services.
In 2022, the Russian company Loudplay had difficulties against the backdrop of geopolitical events. So, for example, the founder of the Loudplay service Vitaly Starodubov, who works at LP Technologies as director of business development, told the Kommersant newspaper in July 2022 that he Nvidia had stopped renewing and selling new licenses to Russian companies ON to separate cores on a server video card[1]We are talking about the Nvidia Grid system. Nvidia "LP Technologies" used to provide cloud gaming services.
A representative of LP Technology in July 2023 told TAdviser that their company has now been redesigned to sell desktop remote access software to Russian manufacturers of VDI (Video Desktop Infrastructure).
Stop selling sanctions software from the cloud
As representatives of LP Technologies LLC told TAdviser in July 2023, the information that Loudplay Global or LP Technologies LLC sells sanctions software through the cloud is not true.
2022: Development of the scheme for the supply of sanctioned software through the cloud
As it became known on June 16, 2022, the Loudplay service (LP Technologies LLC), co-owned by the ex-Minister of Communications, Nikolay Nikiforov proposed a possible supply scheme through cloud software those who left the Russia manufacturers. The company says that the scheme used can formally be considered gray.
The license can be bought for an infrastructure partner located, for example, in Turkey, Kazakhstan or another country, and customers from Russia will work with it through the cloud, "Vitaly Starodubov, co-founder of Loudplay, explained to Kommersant. |
According to him, due to the withdrawal from the Russian market of suppliers of solutions for 3D modeling, developers and architects who are ready to buy access to such software through the cloud have noticeably suffered.
Nikolay Komlev, Executive Director of the Association of Computer and Information Technology Enterprises, called the Loudplay project controversial. On the one hand, it is harmful to Russian software developers, who in the near future will be able to take the places of departed foreign vendors. But on the other hand, the ability to temporarily use foreign solutions will mitigate the import substitution process for Russian software consumers, Komlev said.
Lawyer Alexander Kukuev clarified that foreign IT companies that announced the suspension of work on the Russian market did this voluntarily, and not because of sanctions. Therefore, he sees no risks in the idea of Loudplay. Lawyer Kirill Nikitin believes that everything depends on the conditions of a specific license and if they are violated, users risk losing paid access to the service at any time.
Boris Edidin, a member of the Commission on Legal Support of the Digital Economy of the Moscow Branch of the Russian Bar Association, believes that the scheme is "very vulnerable both technically and legally."
One of the features of information products is that defining end users for a developer is not a difficult task, he explains.[2] |
