In June 2024, the City Arbitration Court Moscow arrested more than 8 billion rubles in the accounts of advertising agencies and platforms to pay off the debts of the bankrupt Russian division - Google Google LLC, follows from the file of arbitration cases. These measures were taken to ensure the execution of court decisions on the collection of debts to the company's creditors.
According to Vedomosti, 4.8 billion rubles were arrested on the accounts of the companies of the MGCom Group advertising group - Emdzhikom LLC and Artix IS LLC, 1.5 billion rubles on the accounts of the Okkam group - Amnet LLC and Deft LLC, LLC "Innovation Center" Omega "(Agency" Native Speech ") - 643 million rubles.
In addition, the file cabinet states that interim measures are due to possible difficulties in the execution of court decisions, since advertising agencies do not have their own funds to meet the requirements of Google LLC. The bulk of the cash in their accounts is transitory in nature, as it is sourced from advertisers and is intended to pay for advertising services.
According to the newspaper, in January-June 2024, the Russian subsidiary of Google filed about 20 lawsuits against advertising agencies and platforms totaling more than 12.5 billion rubles. The requirements are related to the debt for paying for advertising through Google advertising tools in January-February 2022. In March 2022, Google turned off its advertising tools in Russia, including YouTube. By June 2024, the Moscow Arbitration Court completed consideration of only one claim by Google LLC against an advertising agency - OMD Novus LLC (part of OMD OM Group) and decided to recover 17.6 million rubles.[1]
