History

2018: Creation of the joint venture "Moscow Metropolitan" and "Micron"

On July 4, 2018, it became known that Moscow Metro and Micron created a joint venture on the basis of Micron Securities Printing LLC, a center of competence for transport projects of Micron Group of Companies. The corresponding agreement was signed in May 2018 after approval by the corporate bodies of the parties and approval of the transaction by the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

Under the terms of the transaction, Moscow Metropolitan acquires from Micron a 50% stake in SME LLC in the amount of 35.4 million rubles. To carry out joint activities, Micron made a contribution of technological equipment worth 70 million rubles.

According to CEO Gulnara Khasyanova "Micron," the company's strategic alliance with the Moscow Metro will create a strong player with competencies at the junction of key sectors for the digital economy.

Our goal is modern practical solutions for controlling passenger traffic, optimizing operational processes, ensuring security based on ID technologies and the Internet of Things. As they are implemented, they can work successfully both in Russia and in other regions, and we already have preliminary agreements, including with foreign partners, "Gulnara Khasyanova said.

2017: Formation of a competence center in the field of transport projects

On October 5, 2017, Micron announced the formation of a competence center in the field of transport projects on the basis of its subsidiary Micron Securities Printing (SME).

Chips of "Micron" for transport cards (MIK1KMCM, K5016VG4N4 (MIK1312ED) and K5016HS1N4 (MIK640D/MIK64PTAS) have the status of domestic production of the first level.

2016: Agreement of Intent to Create Joint Venture

In December 2016, an agreement of intent was signed on the implementation of joint activities and the creation of a joint venture between PJSC Micron and State Unitary Enterprise Moscow Metro. The agreement is aimed, inter alia, at expanding the functionality of transport cards based on domestic developments in order to import substitution in the development of smart city infrastructure.
