Healthcare costs in the Altai Territory for the year increased by 13.5% and reached ₽66 billion. Purchased 23 X-ray scanners

The volume of financing for the health sector in the Altai Territory in 2024 increased by 13.5% compared to 2023 and reached more than ₽66 billion. As part of the renovation of the material and technical base, 23 units of heavy X-ray equipment were purchased. This was announced at the end of May 2025 by Governor Viktor Tomenko during the report on the work of the regional government for 2024.

According to TASS, the funds went to the construction of medical facilities, the purchase of equipment and payments to doctors. In 2024, more than 30 medical facilities were put into operation: feldsher-midwife stations, medical outpatient clinics and a new polyclinic in the Sovetsky district.

Over the year, healthcare costs in the Altai Territory increased by 13.5% and amounted to 66 billion rubles

According to Viktor Tomenko, many medical institutions were repaired. Large-scale work was carried out in the building of the narcological dispensary. After major repairs, a regional vascular center was opened in the central city hospital in Biysk. In total, the repair of buildings and premises was completed in 88 medical organizations.

The head of the region noted that the systemic update of the material and technical base does not stop. In addition to 23 units of heavy X-ray equipment, the ambulance and emergency fleet in the municipalities was expanded.

Viktor Tomenko recalled that work continues to combat the shortage of doctors. In 2024, the already introduced measures to support health workers were supplemented with new ones. Payments were established for ambulance staff. According to the governor, they will cover about 2.5 thousand people, which will require about ₽300 million annually.

Work on the development of health care is reflected in qualitative indicators. In 2024, residents of the region visited polyclinics more than 20 million times - 2.5% more than in 2023. The volume of high-tech assistance increased by 7.7% - 20 thousand people received it. More than 25 thousand residents of the Altai Territory underwent medical rehabilitation.[1]

On December 12, 2024, the Barnaul court sentenced the leaders of Alvitfarm LLC to 6 and 6.5 years in prison in a general regime colony for supplying fake oncological drugs to a regional oncology dispensary worth more than ₽30 million. Read more here.

The ex-deputy head of the Ministry of Health of the Altai Territory confiscated property worth 23 million rubles

On July 10, 2024, the trial in the case of the former Deputy Minister of Health of the Altai Territory Sergei Nasonov ended, as a result of which his property in the amount of 23 million rubles was confiscated in favor of the state. In September 2022, the third department for the investigation of especially important cases of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Altai Territory opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud in the sphere of insurance, that is, theft of someone else's property by deception regarding the occurrence of an insured event, as well as the amount of insurance compensation payable in accordance with the law or an agreement to the insured or other person committed by an organized criminal group). On August 17, 2021, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Barnaul Irina Dolgova in the case of abuse of office (two episodes of part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
