Mobius Imaging is the company which was founded in 2008 and is engaged in development of the mobile intraoperative systems of visualization. Its subsidiary company GYS Tech (which is engaged in business as Cardan Robotics) was founded in 2015. Her employees develop the innovation robotic systems and navigation technologies for surgeries and intervention beam procedures.
2019: Purchase of Stryker of the developer of the systems of intraoperative visualization
At the beginning of September, 2019 Stryker announced that it is ready to purchase private company Mobius Imaging, LLC and its subsidiary company GYS Tech/Cardan Robotics for $370 million money (without attraction of actions) to which can be added to $130 million if certain indicators in the market are reached.
The Stryker company stated that this transaction will provide it an input in a segment of intraoperative visualization and will perfectly add its offers in the field of implants and operational navigation. Mobius Imaging developed Intelligent Imaging technology for obtaining sharp intraoperative images in real time which significantly facilitates the procedure. Intelligent Imaging even allows to use the ER equipment.
The technology of intellectual visualization Mobius Imaging was applied in a mobile intraoperative system of KT-visualization Airo TruCT. The Airo system helps surgeons when carrying out transactions on a backbone and a brain, can be applied in orthopedic surgery and beam oncology. Thanks to mobility, the Airo system can be also used in department of emergency aid. Earlier the Airo system extended directly Mobius Imaging and through the distributor of Brainlab.
The transaction between Mobius Imaging and Stryker should be closed in the third quarter 2019 on the expiration of the stipulated latent period. It will not have significant effect on the profit of Stryker this year.[1]
