OPAQ Networks — the developer of solutions for information security founded in 2017. The company develops a cloud service of boundary secure access (SASE, Secure Access Service Edge) OPAQ Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) providing protection of all distributed network including data centers, branches of the companies, remote users and devices Internet of Things.

As the producer claims, infrastructure of Secure Access Service Edge is optimized for security and performance in hyper scalable projects that allows the companies to implement and apply security policies of zero trust, on a centralized basis to control network performance and security, to create reports and to manage cybersecurity infrastructure.

History

2020: Fortinet purchased OPAQ Networks

On July 21, 2020 Fortinet announced OPAQ Networks acquisition. The financial component of the agreement of the company did not begin to be opened.

Fortinet intends to integrate the network solution proposed by OPAQ, creation on the zero trust model (designates total absence of trust to someone – even to users in perimeter), with the software of a type of SASE.

Transition of OPAQ Networks under management of Fortinet

It is supposed that Fortinet Security Fabric in combination with the patented solution OPAQ ZTNA will allow to expand the existing offer of SASE of Fortinet company and to offer the platform of security of SASE for cloud computing. The platform will provide access with zero trust (Zero Trust), giving opportunities of the firewall of the next generation and SD-WAN, web security, a sandbox, protection of endpoints, identification / multifactor authentication, protection against repeated cloud workload, the broker of security of cloud applicaions (CASB), isolation of the browser and a possibility of the firewall for web applications.

Actually, acquisition of OPAQ expands our existing offer of SASE even more, allowing Fortinet to deliver the complete SASE platform providing ample opportunities of security and SD-WAN and network offers which all can be brought to clients and partners through the flexible patented cloud computing architecture with zero level of trust", – Ken Xie, the founder, the chairman of the board of directors and the chief executive officer of Fortinet company said.

Moreover, the OPAQ platform is friendly for third parties, providing internet- to providers with high value added an opportunity it is easy for telecom operators and partners to integrate the multi-user SASE platform into their own offer. Thus additional value for business and state the organizations is reached, considering experience of the Control center and Command center security (Network Operations Center and Security Operations Center) and also the advanced professional services.
