Sale of a data center in Medvedkov for 26.3 billion rubles to Rostelecom
In August 2024, Rostelecom closed a deal to acquire a data center in the Moscow region of Medvedkovo for ₽26,28 billion. The object was bought from the combined closed mutual investment fund "Renthal PRO," which was founded by PNK Group and is managed by LLC Management Company "A Class Capital."
According to Interfax, the information about the closure of the transaction was confirmed by the president of PJSC Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky, without disclosing its amount. Data on the cost of acquisition were provided by the management company of the selling fund.
The acquired data center has a connected electric capacity of 36 MW and is designed to accommodate 4.8 thousand server racks. Earlier, in 2024, this object was acquired by the Renthal Missile Defense Fund for ₽25,8 billion, including VAT.
According to the representative of "Rostelecom," this acquisition increases the total number of stands under the management of the group to 27 thousand. The purchase is part of the company's data center network (DPC) strategy.
According to experts interviewed by Vedomosti, such transactions correspond to current market trends, when some companies build data centers and others use them. According to them, Rostelecom, being the largest operator of wired pay television and broadband Internet access in Russia, needs a large number of data centers to provide its services.

Sale of a data center for 4 thousand racks in Moscow to Rostelecom
