2024: Construction of the INTC on Russky Island will cost 24 billion rubles
The President Russia Vladimir Putin instructed to build an innovative scientific and technical center (INTC) on Russky Island. According to TASS, a comparable amount of funds will be used to attract leading scientists to work in the new center. Chekunkov clarified that the specific details of the program to attract specialists will be agreed with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. It is planned that the INTC will become a major scientific platform contributing to the development of advanced technologies and deepening scientific cooperation with Asian countries.
The construction of the first pilot building of the INTC has already begun, its area is 7.5 thousand m ², and, as Chekunkov said, all areas have already been distributed among future residents of the center. The pilot building is located in close proximity to the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and is part of the general concept of creating the Russian Advanced Scientific Cluster on the island.
According to the minister, the INTC will be a key element in the development of the Far East as one of the country's technological and scientific centers. The project is aimed at creating favorable conditions for research, the development of new technologies, as well as the development of international cooperation, primarily with the states of the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to the construction of the INTC, the Russian government has already invested in the creation of an innovative industrial center on Russky Island. Chekunkov added that over the past few years, the region has been actively developing infrastructure to support science and innovation. In particular, more than ₽700 million was allocated for the creation of the first pilot site of the INTC, which is planned to be officially opened in 2025.[1]
